While his party moves Right under Obama, South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham remains the quintessential big government Republican. Six months into his presidency, the most significant difference between Obama and Bush seems to be that the new president is determined to spend more money than the last one. That Graham shows signs that he might be more willing than other Republicans to support this continuity, does not make him an exemplary model of what the GOP should be, but a painful reminder of what it has not beenthe party of limited government. In trying to define this philosophy, Ronald Reagan once said I believe the very heart and soul of conservatism is libertarianism. Graham rejected such thinking as near heresy at the SC GOP state convention in May, declaring I am not a libertarian were not going to build this party around libertarian ideas.
So what sort of ideas does Graham believe the GOP should be built around? More Bush Republicanism? Working closely with the Obama administration? At a time when so many Americans from across the political spectrum are becoming disenchanted with the status quo, Graham will continue to be praised by liberals because his purpose has never been to tear down governmentbut to protect, nurture and restore peoples faith in it.

Enablers. It's what they do.
He orginally ran for office as a strict term-limiter. No career pol he! Oh no, he was just a humble country lawyer, gonna go up to DC for a short spell, fix things as best he could, then come right on home.
Yeah right. How many years has Senator Term Limits been up there? How long did it take him to “discover” that his “unique talents” were just indispensable to the running of the USA?
RINO POS.
The GOP is moving right?
Who knew? I mean, I wait for it. Hope for it. Yearn even for the day, the GOP opens their eyes and stands up, and says firmly “ENOUGH! WE WANT AMERICA BACK”.
Just not seeing that yet.
Not even seeing signs of a pulse. The GOP is still sleeping. While the world dissolves. Big help, them.
“Hey Barney! This should impress even you: I’m going to stick my thumbs up my a$$ and walk on my elbows!” Sinator Linseed Gram
“That’s nothing—I appeared on national television in diapers, hugging a stuffed animal.” Sinator Al “Butch” Frankenberry
AMEN! In a perfect world, we would vote all of them out! Is there any U.S. Senator the you could hold up to your son or daughter as a role model? NO! Not a one. And we need to get some conservatives who are not prone to being blackmailed.

Don’t blame me, I didn’t support him.
......Who knew?.....
I suspected when he vasilated on impeaching Clinton. His problem was contemplating his life as a Senator. He was counting chickens in advance of the hatching.
hell not even that...ifn my gut tells me to grab the shottie when they come up to the porch instead of invitin em in for supper, then why would I vote 'for' em ???
if I wouldnt trust em to watch said children for a minute while I run to the neighbors house, why would I trust em with any other factor of my kids future ???
term limits for our 'servants'...
If that nit wit moves farther left, he’ll be on the right of Obama....
Graham is SC’s ways of issuing a politically correct apology for December 1860!
You’re right. John V. Lindsay could return to Lindsey Graham’s party if were still ticking, but I guess Arlen wouldn’t let him.
SC couldn’t even find a conservative to run against him in the primary, for he is so popular there, with his media coverage and big government ideas.
If you’re praised by liberal...you’re a liberal.
He just got reelected — care to start a recall effort? I’ll sign the petition....
