Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, who left office without much of a Republican bench of viable statewide candidates under him, is hosting a fundraiser for Republican Senate candidate and businessman Curtis Coleman.
The $500/person fundraiser is being held on September 21 at Huckabees Little Rock home.
Coleman, who managed Huckabees unsuccessful 1992 Senate campaign, is one of six Republicans to challenge Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D-Ark.). He drew controversy earlier this year when he suggested people might as well get visas and shots when traveling to southeast Arkansas.
Colemans chief Republican rival for the nomination is state senator Gilbert Baker, who announced his campaign earlier in the week.
So Arkansas Freepers who is the better guy Coleman or Baker?
Huck is gaining weight again.
Fox is keeping him well fed. :)
Time to make our move...now! It’s 2010 starting now!!!
I like Coleman. He’s articulate and SEEMS like a true believer. He’s a legitimate business man, in spite of his ties to Huck.
I haven’t seen all the candidates, though.
Is the whole crew veteranless again? Do any of them have sons with balls enough to serve? The Huckabee/Burr/Romney pattern makes me sick.
Do you know anything about Baker?
Just going on gut political instinct here.
Baker was a university teacher for 22 years and he seems very “careerist politician” Not liberal but not really conservative either.
Coleman is a business man and rails against big government. Most importantly he had no problem spending some cash on his website. As someone in that industry, I’m very appreciative of people like him.
Arkansas ping.

No, I haven’t met Baker and don’t even know if Baker is a he or a she.
I need to find out. Three of the candidates came to our county for a picnic last month. Baker wasn’t one of them.
What do you think about them?
There’s also Tom Cox, who is a businessman and tea party organizer. There’s 3 other contendors but they don’t seem to have much of a chance.
State Senator Gilbert Baker appears to be the strongest candidate.
Whoever Huck supports, that who you know you shouldn’t.
