Controversial radio show host Don Imus will be joining the Fox Business lineup as the result of multi-year year deal the channel announced Thursday to simulcast "Imus in the Morning" starting Oct. 5. The program will air 6 to 9 a.m. weekdays on the Rupert Murdoch owned channel.
Were excited to welcome a renowned broadcaster like Don Imus to the Fox Business team. His 40 years of on-air experience combined with his superb interviewing skills and capitalist sensibilities will be a great addition to our lineup," Kevin Magee, executive vice president of Fox Business, said in a statement.
According to the Fox release, the program, will will "add business news into its format which now offers a mix of current affairs, politics, entertainment and sports."
I love Fox. Roger Ailes [president of the Fox News Channel] is the preeminent genius of American Broadcasting. Who wouldn't want to do this?" Imus said in the press release from Fox.
Imus was fired by CBS, which syndicated his radio show, and MSNBC, which simulcast it on cable, in 2007 after making on-air remarks about the Rurgers University womens' basketball program that were deemed to be racist by some. In the wake of the Imus remarks, advertisers bolted the show

I’m not a fan.
Good for Imus! I wonder if Shawn’s interview of the Imus’ at their ranch had anything to do with it? I have seen his show occasionally on RFD channel, but he looked a bit unhealthy due to his cancer and emphyzema(sp?) on the Hannity show. Well wishes to him.
It is truly stunning how much Fox Business Channel is struggling. It has to be channel placement as the main reason. It is in the high 100s on my cable meanwhile CNBC is right after CNN and right before MSNBC.
They should simulcast Glenn Beck’s radio show in the morning on Fox Biz if they were smart. This move is worthless.
DirectTV keeps Fox Business Channel out of the basic lineup, its a pay extra for channel.
I listened to Imus for a couple of years of drive time. He’s an idiot.
Imus is a yutz
he can be entertaining in small doses and I genuinely like Charles but anything more than my 15 minute drive to the train station starts to make me queasy
I don’t think it’s a good idea for Fox to associate with Don Imus - he’s not even that much of a fun guy to listen to and even less to watch. I’m completely ignoring the “nappy” controversy because that was a fake story drummed up by race pimps.
Nappy headed business people?
I don’t think it’s channel placement. I live in LA with cable access. Fox News is not even carried on the biggest carrier in LA, Time Warner. I think Time Warner is one of two cable providers in LA.
This is the problem in other cities as well.
I love Fox Business Channel, but you’re right, it’s up at 149 on our cable box. CNBC is something like 47.
Cavuto’s show at 6 is a must see. I also like that Cody kid on Happy Hour (although I read he’s 37, so he’s not really a kid, just acts like one, LOL.) But IMHO, the women need to dress a little more “professionally,” as in business attire.
Is his brother still around, FRed?
talk about a loose set of cannons.. -)
Press releases in entertainment always feature the word “excited” in the first sentence or the first graph.
How excited could anyone be about this.
It’s like putting Col. Sanders on The Food Channel.
Hmmph.
Most cable providers do not offer Fox. I’m in LA with the largest provider. No Fox Business.
I think the Don Imus is dead. He just doesn’t have the good grace to lay down.
Every trading room I have ever walked into had CNBC on the TV.
Imus might draw viewers from Morning Joe but I don’t know how many viewers MSNBC even has at that time in the morning.
Joe Scarborough himself is getting tiresome as the only allegedly “conservative” counter to the rest of the left-leaning chatterers. He spends most of his time calling liberals “nice people” and chastising conservatives for standing up for their beliefs. I generally watch Morning Joe to get the “other side” of the debates.
Maybe I can get that from Imus instead if he runs a relatively family-friendly show and not some of the routines he did on MSNBC.
