As he retreats to Camp David for a final summer getaway, President Barack Obama is mapping out a post- Labor Day plan to regain the political offensive, including a private meeting next Tuesday with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid .
After taking office with a two-thirds approval rating, Obama has watched it slip closer to 50 percent. Over the summer, he lost ground on the health care debate and other aspects of his crowded agenda, and his dealings with Congress — controlled by fellow Democrats — also worsened as worries increased about losses in next year's midterm elections.
The most important domestic political gambit of Obama's nearly eight-month-old presidency — to expand government's role in health care coverage and increase regulation of private insurers — faces an iffy prognosis after a tough August.
The public also has lost some enthusiasm for the war in Afghanistan , even as Army Gen. Stanley McChrystal , the U.S. military commander there, is pushing for more troops.
A McClatchy-Ipsos poll released Tuesday found that 40 percent of Americans favored the sort of health overhaul that Obama's been talking about and 45 percent opposed it. In the poll of 1,057 adults conducted Thursday through Monday, three-fourths also wanted incremental change versus fixing everything at once. Asked about the war in Afghanistan , only 29 percent thought that the U.S. is winning. Just 40 percent of Americans thought that things are moving in the right direction.
The $787 billion economic stimulus may have staved off a depression, but taxpayers resent it. The federal budget is a mess. Attorney General Eric Holder's decision to appoint a prosecutor to investigate possible criminal charges over Bush-era CIA interrogations put Republicans more at odds with Obama than they already were.

Two small problems for Mr. Obama. First, he's never been "here" before. He's never had to come up from behind... He is MENTALLY-INCAPABLE of knowing how to get out of this mess of his and A-Rod's creation, no matter HOW MANY political consultants they meet with. He can repackage it, rename it and pull together focus groups 24/7 to try to polish the ObamaCare turd ball. But in the end, ObamaCare and the rest of his agenda is nothing more than a shiny turd ball — and he just can't comprehend that in the Utopian land of unicorns and smurfs that resides inside his pea brain. Obama's other small problem is that in 2009, the NEW media is more powerful than the traditional MSM. The internet and blogs can scrutinize his agenda policies in a day faster than a week's worth of MSM news cycles. Add on top, that he's always — ALWAYS — been the media darling, going back to 2004, and has no experience in having to work for his popularity — the media has always just handed it to him.

I’d say a good, hard left turn by 0bama would make his poll numbers jump up by 20 points.
Obama, Pelosi, Reid, and their cohorts will lie, blow smoke, deceive, cajole, and give as many Presidential speeches, presentations, addresses to congress, etc. as it takes to draw this out so he can continue progressing towwards his goals. When you understand this about him and his administration and the cohorts in the House and Senate...everything comes into focus.
Luckily, their over-reach on health care has awakened a large part of the American citizenry.
Because health care effects everyone, and because the American people intrinsically know that government bureaucracy makes things less efficient, the American people are downloading the Dem Health Care Plan HERE and elsewhere and reading it for themselves.
They are also reading the cited quotes of the main architect of the plan and Chief Advisor to Obama on Health Care HERE and elsewhere, and seeing the context of the plan from the designer of it.
So, when other Americans and conservatives like Sarah Palin declares that the PLan is a monstrosity and that it is downright evil, they know for themselves that it is true.
Thus, the American people (the proverbial giant) is waking up and the question is now can they wake up quickly enough, can they make such an out and out hue and cry and force enough democratic and RINO representatives to be more afraid of then, the constituents for their political life than they are of Pelosi, Reid, and Obama and stop the Health Care plan.
Then, can they maintain that energy long enough to completely route the democrats, despite ACORN and voter fraud, in 2010?
I believe we can. And I hope and pray that the events in DC of 912 punctuate this and make it clear.
