TRIPOLI, Libya – The only man convicted in the 1988 Lockerbie bombing was taken to intensive care Wednesday after his illness from terminal prostate cancer worsened, family members said.

According to Libyan officials, Abdel Baset al-Megrahi's health has swiftly deteriorated since he was released from a Scottish prison less than two weeks ago and returned home to Libya to die.

The family members, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter, said they have not been allowed to visit him and there was no way to independently verify al-Megrahi's condition.

No doubt this guy is being ‘taken care of’ to be sure he won’t live too long. After all he has become an embarrassment and is no longer useful

"The family members, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter, said they have not been allowed to visit him and there was no way to independently verify al-Megrahi's condition."

So in other words there will be a closed casket funeral while the guy slips out the back door to enjoy a new identity and live out the remainder of his life in comfort somewhere.

My best wish for this terrorist murderer is that his last hours are so painful that he screams his lungs out. Then when his last breath is drawn, I hope his escorts directly to the worst corner of hell are there. His screams will be hollow. His eternity in hell is guaranteed.

I was thinking he would make a perfect suicide bomber...

I bet you’re right. This seems too pat. After all, the medical information that they used to release him said he had a few months to live. Suddenly, one week after his return, he’s in the hospital in Libya. How hard do you think it would be to put a toe-tag on a John Doe corpse in the morgue, doctor the chart, issue a death certificate and fix this up to make all the outrage go away?

Good call.

Maybe. And then maybe because he is no longer receiving medicine under the British system, he is dying quicker.

My take.
This guys release has caused such a huge stink for so many people that he MUST be seen to DIE. This will lend weight to the claim he was dying and the release was humanitarian.

Soon his “death” will be announced and in a day or 2 all will be forgotten. No matter there was a deal for crude made between the Brits and Libya and despite the terrorist would never have been released without input from the Kenyan in the White House.
