End Hoplophobia Now!

At the same time, hoplophobes seek to suppress any expression of gun ownership or approval of the practice among adults. Many corporations include websites about firearms or firearm accessories in their list of sites to block — right up there with porn and the stuff about making bombs. The media routinely lies about the motivations and intentions of people who choose to carry firearms on their person — as CBS and MSNBC recently did when it peddled false stories about those who were open carrying at some of the townhall protests and other gatherings. In polite society, guns shouldn't be mentioned, and you shouldn't let on that you own any — that's a good way not to get invited to any more cocktail parties or afternoon coffee klatches. Popular culture — the movies, television, and so forth — present a dual picture on guns. Police and military types should have them and do great, heroic things with them, but anyone else who has one is a bucktoothed rube who is likely to either shoot himself with it, or else is some sort of racist moron who intends to do harm to a Person of Color. Again, the idea is to plant the meme in the minds of the people that there's just something unacceptable — something fishy, if you will — about somebody who does or wants to own a gun. Eventually they'll probably set up an email address at the White House so you can snitch on people like that.

Thank you Col Jeff Cooper for that term - From Wiki:

Firearms instructor Colonel Jeff Cooper coined the word in 1962 to describe a “mental disturbance characterized by irrational aversion to weapons”.[2] Cooper employed the term as an alternative to slang terms, stating: “We read of ‘gun grabbers’ and ‘anti-gun nuts’ but these slang terms do not (explain this behavior).” Cooper attributed this behavior to an irrational fear of firearms and other forms of weaponry. He stated that “the most common manifestation of hoplophobia is the idea that instruments possess a will of their own, apart from that of their user.”

Similar to suvaphobia or the fear that SUVs possess a will of their own, this has been documented on the EIB network.

We need to end the suffraging of our women, too. That would help with the hoplophobia problem.

Didn't Ann Coulter point out that when women got the vote, everything went downhill?

Very good article. In times like these, I should find Cooper’s articles and post them.

An armed society is a polite society!

Eggzackly!!!

Go to a Gun show and see how the people there are polite, smiling and pleasant to be around, and contrast that with the manner and mood of folks that frequent a place with a 'Leftist' bent like “Whole Foods”. [went there to boycott the boycotter's]

Most of the people in a place like Whole Foods will look like they're in a dour mood, not smiling and certainly not as polite as the crowd at a Gun show.

It's like two totally different worlds, amazing.

It's true. Every @#$%^$ one of my guns seems to jam at random and of their own free will, no matter how much I swear at them not to do that. Yes, they're dirty, but not THAT dirty.
