What Preliminary Report Says About Pastor's Death (Oklahoma Pastor Carol Daniels)

One week later, investigators continue to look into the case of Pastor Carol Daniels, who was found dead inside her church in Anadarko. KSBI-TV's Kealey McIntire gives us a closer look at what documents released by the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner's Office are telling investigators.

An eight page document released by the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner's Office confirms that Carol Daniels died from multiple sharp force injuries, but many questions still remain.

We took the report to Dr. Howard Kurtz, Professor of Criminology at Oklahoma City University to see what he thinks it reveals.

"To do this kind of damage postmortem as this report seems to show makes one think that there was a great deal of anger at someone like the victim or at the victim themself," says Kurtz.

The report illustrates where Daniels suffered wounds. Kurtz says the wounds to the hands are defensive wounds. There were several wounds to the chest, which may have occurred as Daniels tried to escape. Kurtz says it appears the stab wounds to the neck were fatal.

Kurtz says the information could tell investigators that defeminization is a possible motive.

"Perhaps there was a sexual motive in this case or there was someone who had a great deal of sexual rage when they did this," says Kurtz.

Kurtz points out the report doesn't show any signs of trauma to the head. He says that shows Daniels probably wasn't taken off guard by the killer and that she may have even known her attacker.

The FBI is also assisting the investigation. A local spokesperson says they'll use databases to see if other similar crimes have taken place across the nation.

Many questions remain for investigators. Kurtz says the report could support many different theories.

"It would not surprise me to hear that it was someone that knew the victim. It wouldn't surprise me to hear that it may have been someone who worked at the church. It wouldn't surprise me that it fell into some of these other categories because this evidence could support all of those theories at this point," says Kurtz.

Investigators have said the body was posed. Kurtz says nothing in this report supports that evidence. He says evidence not yet revealed probably supports that statement.

Isn’t it convenient that without a lick of evidence
some expert “wouldn’t be surprised” if this evil
crime was commited by someone “familiar” with the
victim - even a church member. Christians, once
again, are cast as evil deviants.

Well I’m no expert, but I’ve read enough to recognize
a satanic murder when I see one.

Give me a break!

powerless against the mighty. Help us, O Lord
our God, for we rely on You, and in Your name
we have come against this vast army. O Lord,
You are our God; do not let man prevail against
You.” (2Chronicles 14:11)

Lots of dangerous nuts running around. The only Federal health program I’d vote for is one that identified psychopaths. That might actually be constructive.

I was wondering how far her church was located from the Railroad tracks. I guess I was thinking of an Angel Maturino Reséndiz, aka The Railway Killer/The Railroad Killer type.

"I’d vote for is one that identified psychopaths"

Or one that brings back large insane asylums.
