Romney said keeping hand in GOP '12 race (Desperate Mitt Alert)
UPI ^ | 30 AUGUST 2009 | UPI

BOSTON, Aug. 30 (UPI) -- Republican former U.S. presidential hopeful Mitt Romney is quietly raising millions of dollars as he prepares for the 2012 campaign, analysts say.

Observers say that since he lost the GOP presidential primaries last year, the former Massachusetts governor has shown his usual competitiveness and discipline in keeping his presidential aspirations in play, The Boston Globe reported Sunday.

"He lost a tough race," New Hampshire state Sen. Jeb Bradley, a Republican former member of the U.S. House, told the newspaper. "After that, Mitt could have done anything he wanted with his life: back to the non-profit world or start a new business. But what has he been doing? He's kept at it. He's been busting his butt since losing more than anyone I have ever seen."

Romney started at around a 20% acceptance rate, and when it was all over, and he'd spent tens of millions of his own dollars (since not many others supported him), he ended at around 20%. Huckabee (who I did not support) got much higher numbers in a much shorter period of time, with a small fraction of the money.

“freerepublic is full of two things from you, threads of you pushing Mitt Romney and denials that you are doing it, two years of it.”

Ever occur to you that this is a poster resurfaced after being banned for daring to disagree with the authorities on high?

Oh, it happened. Usually for daring to push anyone over Fred Thompson. Lots of these people re-emerged under new names. There was a very chilling movement afoot on this board at the time. Definitely a suppression of speech.

I love this place, but the thought police come out from time to time...

Not saying that’s what happened here. But your interpretation leaves another side completely unturned...

Nice man, nice family

Mitt isn't nice, he is a self absorbed liar that has a compulsion to lie that he seems unable to control. His destructive obsession to claw his way to power for reasons that he himself doesn't seem to know, reveals an incredible lack of character.

Nobody knows why Mitt wants to be president but we all know that he wants it desperately, we cannot look at his life and say "oh, he has a lifelong conservative vision for the nation", he was a lifelong liberal that was against conservatives and he named them when he dumped on them. He discarded everything that he was before 2006 to adopt an entirely new set of values, principles, a new vocabulary and even a new identity for a different electorate. Romney is the ultimate "empty suit", he is a clingy salesman that is driven by a compulsion to make the next sale and nothing else, (we hope), some wonder if he may be harboring some sinister family hatred towards conservatism.

You have a vivid imagination and you sound a little paranoid, are you a Giuliani man?

Nope. Not paranoid at all. I was one of those who was banned. Had a handle of 3.5 years. Adios. All for citing the official Republican Party platform. Free Republic helped accelerate me to the conservative side of the tracks back then...

Funny, I actually donated to Fred Thompson’s campaign. Listen to the guy on the radio on Nashville talk radio. But dare anyone say anything nice about Romney in the heat of an election...

Giuliani never even pretended to be conservative. Romney, I thought, made a genuine conversion—one that took the greater part of a decade.

He was by far the most eloquent candidate we had, and also one of the few who could throw barbs realistically back at Obama.

I’m not saying I endorse the guy in 2012, but I think he’d make a good candidate.

While Mitt Romney’s father was running as the antiwar candidate for the republican presidential nomination, Mitt Romney was avoiding the draft in France.

This was after he had stomped out in protest against the conservative Goldwater convention and just before he announced that the American military had brainwashed him (which caused a national scandal, and laughter).

No Romney man has ever served the American people in uniform, in the entire history of his male line which predates the Civil War by many years. That is a pretty tough record to just be a coincidence or a matter of chance.

I thought, made a genuine conversion—one that took the greater part of a decade.

Wrong, it was instant. His massive series of epiphanies took place when he started the 2008 race in mid 2005 and were mostly wrapped up in the next 12 to 20 months.

I have enough contempt and hatred for democrats and some GOP sitting senators without wasting any of it on a non-starter like Romney.

"One issue I want to clarify concerns President Clinton’s “don’t ask, don’t tell, don’t pursue” military policy. I believe that the Clinton compromise was a step in the right direction. I am also convinced that it is the first of a number of steps that will ultimately lead to gays and lesbians being able to serve openly and honestly in our nation’s military. That goal will only be reached when preventing discrimination against gays and lesbians is a mainstream concern, which is a goal we share."

Sincerely, W. Mitt Romney

I can’t wait until she gets out there and Mitt sees the crowds, but be prepared, he will unleash POLITICO for a round of let’s play trashing Sarah.

They would say he didn’t even believe in himself, so why should we?

The reason I can't vote for him IS his Mormonism. The Mormon man believes too much in himself. The Mormon man thinks he can actually become (a) god, with as many wives as he desires. The wives sole role is reproduction and submission. Women have no opportunity in the Mormon economy, and can even be left behind by their man.

Anyone who can accept the Mormon concept cannot be my President. They are completely antithetical to this Christian mind, regardless of how "prety" he looks from the outside. Mormonism twists the truths of Christianity, and says they have the only way. They preach God didn't finish His plan with Jesus, and that instead, Joe Smith holds the keys to heaven.

There is only one God, and Mitt isn't He (and will never be!).

There is only one person on the Conservative side being heard loud and clear. Simply by posting on her Facebook page, she has forced Zero into a corner. Feel free to join and support her.

Romney has accomplished thousand times more in his life than you and me combined! He turned around failing corporations thereby saving thousands of jobs. How many jobs did you create or save? I can’t recall hiring any person or giving any one a job except people who landscaped my house and repair my appliances.

And run for office.

Mitt Romney: "…based on the numbers of American Muslims [as a percentage] in our population, I cannot see that a cabinet position would be justified. But of course, I would imagine that Muslims could serve at lower levels of my administration."

Madonna has built a personal fortune 3 or 4 times that of Mitt Romney, George Soros even bigger, people can play this game all day long.

Madonna did not save or create any jobs.
Soros is very successful, I made money in his mutual funds.
I don’t have to agree with his political agenda in order to admire his success.
