CLEMSON U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham said Monday that he would never support a government-run public health insurance option and hoped President Obama would seek a bipartisan plan that included tort reform and insurance reform.
He said he supports an individual tax credit for health care. An employer option could remain, but he said he believes the individual credit would provide more cost savings.
The idea of a public (health care) option will never get my vote, Graham said.
Graham, a Republican from South Carolina, spoke to members and guests of the Rotary Club of Clemson at the Ramada Inn. He also touched on news about Afghanistan and the troubles involving South Carolinas governor.
On health care, Graham said he would like to see elements of it reformed rather than try to accomplish total reform in one bill.
You cant take a big system like this and do it in 90 days, he said.

Way to go Graham!
Can we please vote now before he changes his mind?
He must have seen the Tea Party sign that said “Go Green: Recycle Congress!”
‘think there might be some teensy weensy chance that they’re starting to actually LISTEN?
OK. But NEVER trust a man with ‘hips’.
I will believe it when I see it, I also own that bridge in Boston that he can buy.
Has he checked with McCain about this?
This man is too stupid to just shut up. Let the other side eat their own and stay out of their way. Democrats aren’t going to pass anything except each other in the hall. They’ll do nothing and then say it was because the other guys wouldn’t do it with them. It has reached that point in “negotiations” where the first one to talk loses.
The Dems are capable of making the case AGAINST Obamacare on their own. The more they talk, the more people don’t like their plans. Republicans need to stop talking about health care and start talking about national security & Holder’s assault on the CIA.
Graham was for Amnesty. He is political history ,I can assure you
I met today with a group of Doctors from Phoenix and some Mexican Lawyers. We are building a medical center and luxury spa and hotel in Nogales Mexico. They will rent office and surgery facilities to 32 Doctors in various practice areas. If this madness in Washington passes (and they think it will) they will move part time to Nogales and will stack patients in like cord wood to get away from death panels. — all cash!! Screw Obama death care!! IT IS HAPPENING !! (Also there is a plan for a Health ship that will dock at Acapulco with full surgical and hospital care— all cash. Have no fear.
Uh-huh. It looks like Graham gave a good speech, but with regret, I find Obama completly untrustworthy, but more predictable than Graham, Hatch, McCain, and what should be the rest of “ours”.
I’m a little irritated with Graham saying, “Well, if you’re going to complain at us, you ought to propose solutions.” Well, Mr high-priced surgeon, I’m not a doctor, but I don’t want my treatment to include a “headectomy.” I hired you to do better than that. [I hired you. You work for me.]
Are you serious, & if so, what kind of cash are they expecting...something we can’t afford?
Jeez...how about no Healthcontrol Lindsey?
Did you know, John Mc has one this long.
Sheesh. Talk about being right for the wrong reason.
