Cheney For President

Our guess, however, is that Cheney overstates when he says "so many Americans have doubts." We'd venture that for most people the Obama administration's see-no-evil approach is comforting. After years of fear and vigilance, it's nice to be able to relax and not worry so much about terrorism.

It's nice--but potentially dangerous. If the Bush administration's policies really did keep us safe for 7½ years, then it stands to reason that the Obama administrations' policies may be endangering us now. Certainly that is how the public would see it in the event of another terrorist attack.

If that happens, heaven forbid, Obama will be seen to have failed in the most basic presidential duty, and the Bush administration will be vindicated. As inconceivable as it may seem today, the 2012 election may end up turning on national security. Republicans would be wise to nominate someone with both toughness and experience. Under such circumstances, it's hard to think of a better candidate--assuming, of course, that he could be persuaded to run--than Richard B. Cheney.

Cheney is the only Statesman left, that I can see. I would vote for him, if Sarah Palin is the VP candidate. At least he is a true conservative, and not like wishy-washy McCain (and I did vote for McCain due to Palin...as a vote against Zero)

He has my vote. He’s always been one of my favorites. Unless he’s gone soft on social/moral issues.

That is just what I was thinking. A Cheney/Palin ticket. Would the progressives ever squeal.

One of the most fundamental mistakes of the Bush Presidency was not leaving an incumbent vice-President that had a viable chance to seek election in 2008. Instead, we were left with a vice-President that had no intention of even attempting a run, hence we ended up with a John McCain candidate that most true conservatives had no faith in at all.

Next thing you know, Obama wins in a cake walk. End of story.
Maybe even the end of America.

Do I detect some common sense thinking here?

There are more, but Cheney’s uniquely positioned.

I’m in agreement, but several Republicans will be upset (and a few freepers) as well...lol

I’m on board, if for no other reason than to drive Garofolo and Maher over the edge....and I imagine Olberman would commit suicide on air.

Is Cheney/Cheney 2012 too much to ask for?

Cheney declined to run for GOP nominee. Stated it was his health, but I think he wanted to make room for somebody with less “Bush taint.”

Though, I love Dick Cheney and would vote for him in a nanosecond, I watched almost all of the interview done on Fox with him

He certainly seemed, at least to me, a man ready to retire and not one willing to take on the rigors of running for POTUS. He did not look in the greatest of health, far from it

I do think he would be far more effective as the elder statesman behind the scenes

My 18 year asked me what I thought about Obama verses Cheney. My reply was Obama wasn't worthy the shine Cheney shoes

He’d have my vote in a heartbeat. And I hope his daughter Liz has a Cabinet post.

Cheney looks great, and has been out in sun, plus he’s had time to recuperate from stress by not being involved in last election process.

I hear that “no weapons of mass destruction” were found, but that is not true. There was 550 metric tons of yellow cake sold to Canada, that was discovered in 2003 or 2004, as Bush/Cheney had said was in Iraq. Our soldiers had to sit on it until around 2006 before it could be moved. Now it wasn’t processed, but could have been. Why has that issue not been cleared up...even Laura standing in for OReilly tonight did not clear that up with Juan Williams...this is disturbing that Americans do NOT realize the truth due to ALL THE MEDIA not reporting on this.

The Canadian Free Press had the article at time, and it was reported on FR. AP had a quick print on it, but it never made mainstream media. It’s in archives of CFP from either early 2007 or late 2006.
