One other issue has to be raised. After al-Megrahi was freed and given a hero’s welcome when his plane landed in Libya, the Obama administration and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton protested. But this was after he gained his freedom. So the question must be stated: Would Britain have allowed this deal to be undertaken without informing President Obama in advance?
After all, scores of Americans were murdered by his action. The families have suffered for close to twenty years. A moving account of one family’s trauma appeared in an op-ed yesterday written by Robert P. George. As George writes: “What did American officials know about the decision to free Megrahi and when did they know it? What, if anything, did our government do to try to prevent it? Remember, 180 of Megrahi’s victims were our fellow citizens. President Obama had a right to be informed in advance of what Scotland was planning to do and a duty to do everything in his power diplomatically to prevent this outrage.”

Some years ago, W needed to find Saddam’s nuclear stuff. It was discovered that it was moved to Libya who subcontracted the development from Saddm. Saddam got invaded and captured.
Libya thought it best to come clean (the son) snd opened talks with the Brits to cease nuclear development and the Brits and W said yes, but you need to surrender the bomber.
Libya said ok but you need to give him back after a few years.

I know it's difficult for those of limited intelligence to comprehend, but W''s not the President anymore. Even if he made some such scurrilous deal, what would bring you to conclude that Obama would honor it?
Obama, being a not-so-honorable guy, would be more likely to spill the guts of the deal for the world to see, as evidence of W's duplicity -- a most welcome distraction from his own tumbling popularity ratings. That didn't happen.
Fail.
If he did, he would not have objected: releasing Islamic terrorists is a central tenet of his policy.

Obama had no say in the matter and cannot produce finger prints, a smoking gun or DNA. All he has is something on the Brits but is powerless to do any thing about it.

Of course he did. He either acquiesced or did not have sufficient influence to stop the release. In either case, he failed.
