Rick Perry's talk of secession appears to have buoyed efforts by Texas secessionists who want the governor to follow through. Hutchison calls Perry's rhetoric about secession "silly." At a rally Saturday on the Capitol steps, members of the of the Texas Nationalist Movement called on the governor and the Legislature to put a referendum on the state ballot on whether Texas should leave the union. At an anti-tax "tea party" protest in April, Perry touted states rights and raised the possibility of secession.
On Saturday, secessionist speakers denounced the federal government in general - and the Obama administration in particular. One speaker said, "We are aware that stepping off into secession may be a bloody

I never had any use for her ... Perry is much better as governor.
I think Kay Bailey Huchison is silly.
I am a Texas secessionist. I would move back if the great state would decide to pull out of this broken union.
Not that silly. Just good business. Personally I’d probably move to Texas if they seceded.
Hutchison has been in DC too long and thinks the people there are her constituents.
She is not electable as Governor with that type of position.

If Texas decides to leave, I support them, 100%! Gov. Perry was right to mention it, a few months ago, and I hope he talks about it again.
KBH is a RINO and is crazy if she thinks she’ll be elected Governor. NO WAY KAY!!!
When Rick mentioned secession back at the April 15 Tea Party, I don’t think he meant this was something he nor Texas was anywhere ready to envoke. As a Native Texan and one who would support secession, IF and that’s a big if, freedom and liberty within the US were to be taken away or given away by idiots that want a free ride at the gubmint expense.
Kay Bailey is making a mistake by trying to make hay out of this, unless she really is thinking about attracting liberals and nobama supporters.

Awesome! Thanks! Please invite all your friends!
Even if Texas does not secede, the passage of such a bill would send a strong message to Washington and a huge win for state’s rights. That is not silly.
I grew up in TX. I think secession may be necessary in the next few years.
Early reports I read that there were 1,500-2,000 in attendance.
The tone is different than advertised. Pre-demonstration statements emphasized 10th Amendment, not Secession except as last resort.
This is probably why Governor “Rick” and the Legislatures were not there. They are probably realizing what kind of tiger they have provoked. It is a shame Washington has not admitted it, yet. This is not just a Texas issue.
Secession is not a good action, but Kay Bailey Hutchison, is not the right person for the job of Governor of the great State of Texas.
There is no room for bluffing concerning the 10th Amendment. This is the only coarse of action we have until the next elections. Then they will see what they have done.
The actions of the Majority of Congress for the recent months has been so against the grain of the Constitution as to warrant Impeachment of most of them for Treason. A clear breach of their oath of office.
Which is:
“I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.”
Not many of them vote in the Texas Republican Primary, cannot see how that could help her. I know she is not the right person for the job.
