Cheney wrong on interrogation inquiry facts, Obama official says Posted: August 31st, 2009 11:34 AM ET

From CNN's Elaine Quijano

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Former Vice President Dick Cheney had his facts wrong when he blasted Attorney General Eric Holder last week for launching an investigation into past CIA interrogation techniques, an administration official asserted Monday.

Holder's decision to review waterboarding and other enhanced interrogation techniques was politically motivated, Cheney claimed in remarks broadcast on FOX News Sunday. Cheney made clear in the interview, conducted last Friday, that he believes President Barack Obama directed Holder to launch the review in response to pressure from left-wing Democrats.

But the administration official, who asked not to be identified, said, "The attorney general made a determination independently, based on the facts and the law."

The official also objected to Cheney's statement that "the president is the chief law enforcement officer in the land."

"That's not true," the official replied. "It's the attorney general."

Someone over there doesn't believe the President is in charge anymore (as if he ever were).

Here's how you have to deal with Obama to make any sense of it ~ he's more like Yasser Arafat ~ a HIRED EMPLOYEE of the PLA/PLO ~ and never fully responsible for what's done in his name.

His job is to go to meetings, go to parties, have barbeques at the White House, preside over formal cabinet meetings, answer his cellphone, and in most other ways stay out of the way.

The POTUS is the Head of the executive branch. Executive, means execute, make happen, enforce. The President can fire the Attorney General.

Chief means, principal, authority (Latin princeps). ThePOTUS is the chief, the authority over federal law enforcement in the same way that the POTUS is also the head of the armed forces, even if generals admirals are doing the overseeing, they do the President's bidding.

Strange, they seem to be drawing attention to Cheney’s alleged error in claiming who the CLEO of the US is and away from Cheney’s contention that the EIT actually worked and saved American lives...hmmm.

Cheney says Holder’s investigation is politically motivated. Administration sources smack that town by saying that Holder is acting independently and is basing his conclusions on facts and the law.

Cheney says the techniques were effective. Administration sources smack this down by saying that it’s not easy to measure their effectiveness.

CNN’s role here: they wasted our time.

Dear Democrat Media,

READ Article 2 Section 2. The AG works FOR the President. He does NOT “make independent decisions”. This is a transparent WH propaganda lie that ANY mentally competent “JOURNALIST” would immediately nuke.

That CNN refuses to do even the basic modicum of journalism on this story indicates CNN is now a wholly owned propaganda subsidiary of the Democrat National Committee and not a credible source of information.

THAT must be why he seems to sleep at different places so often disguised as “official trips” or vacations” just like Saddam Hussein......... (/sarcasm) It must be tiring to so tiring to overthrow a country, hence the need for so many vacations.
