The health bill is "dead on arrival" in Congress, said Rep. Joe Barton (R-Texas), the ranking member of the House Energy and Commerce committee, said during an interview on Fox News.
"If they somehow manage to get the votes and get enough Democrats to walk the plank and commit suicide, in the next Congress, I'll be chairman Joe Barton of the Energy and Commerce committee, and we'll repeal it," Barton said.

The Democrats get the Health Care and Cap and Trade through the last thing they should worry about is losing their seats. There will be an uprising.

That must be one hell of a win to get 2/3 of the House and Senate of override Obama's veto of the Republican's repeal.
This monstrosity must never pass in the first place.

Can Rep. Joe Barton name a single government entitlement type program that has ever been “reversed”?

Goes without saying that Obama will lose his seat too. He'd actually do it in 2013.

I don’t think any has been even close to as unwieldy as this one. It won’t be half set up, let alone have handed out any checks, before Obama is gone.

Right, they would need Obama to sign the bill, which he wouldn’t.

That must be one hell of a win to get 2/3 of the House and Senate of override Obama's veto of the Republican's repeal. The year listed was 2012 - I hope and pray that there won't be an obama in our White House by then.
This monstrosity must never pass in the first place.
I agree 100%, but we do need a fallback plan. People need to know that socialism is reversible, as it was in Germany after 1945 and in Russia more recently. This is just one of many battles against evil, and we can't give up in the unlikely event that we lose this one.

Dear GOP,
Stop Obamacare, Cap and Trade and others this year, then we will vote for you in 2010 - 2012.

The next Congress will be elected in 2010, not 2012. I think there is a typo in the original story. In any case, I don’t want America to endure the current Congress/President through 2012.

Actually, all that has to happen is for the House bill not to approve funding for the program in their budget. Obama can veto but it would shut down the whole government.
To: ianschwartz
This is the start of a Republican platform...something I’ve been waiting for.
Let’s get rolling.
