Bud Abbott and Lou Costello, a popular American comedy duo during the 1940s and 50s, performed a number crowd pleasing skits. Even today, their "Whos On First" skit is still well known.
Another of their famous skits, "Union Loafers", would probably be considered 'politically incorrect' by today's far-left activists. Nonetheless, the humor of this comedic routine seems to be an appropriate reminder since looming on the horizon is the "card check" scheme to end private unionization ballots.
In this one, Abbott gets a loafing job at a bakery and Costello cant understand that he gets paid for it.
Bump.....
Yes. First you get a union card, then you get dough for loafing..........
My favorite is “Niagara Falls”, but I sent this around anyway.
Maybe, we could get Congress to do a floating parade down the Niagara River, and....oops....over the Faallllllls, behind the Presidential entourage, of course.
Slowly I turned... to find that was the Three Stooges.
Abbott and Costello did this bit w/ Bagel Street and the Susquhanna Hat Company.
What's blue and yellow and sleeps 3?
A DOT truck.
The one I remember was that he was in a jail cell with a wild, ill tempered guy.
I had to look around, but it would seem the bit you saw with Abbott & Costello was from a TV show in 1952, and they did use Niagara Falls as the trigger. I sit corrected.
I had only seen the Bagel Street bit. I always enjoyed when they smashed the hats.
