My wife heard Gerald Connolly on Fox News just a few minutes ago say that his town hall meetings were "very civilized" and that he wasn't sure how he was going to vote on portions of it. I will be sending Fox News a message about this but this is nothing but a pack of lies. We’re so mad we could spit nails.
We contacted Connolly's office three times in the last several weeks and participated in two demonstrations against Obamacare, Aug 22nd and 25th. The first time we demonstrated was outside of his office in which there were over 160 people against Obamacare. Connolly was not there nor did he want to come and talk to us. Instead, Connolly held one “town meeting”, in a gated retirement community by invitation only. The only reason his town hall meeting was “civil” was because the only ones let into his meetings were residents of the posh retirement community were allowed in and those opposing were told to go stand on the corner of the highway.
As far as Connolly not “having his mind made up” below is the email that was sent to us from his office.

Currently, lawmakers are weighing ideas to finance the proposed health care reform, such as taxing employer-provided health benefits. At a time of extraordinary economic stress and rising number of uninsured individuals, we must make every effort to protect Americans' income security and health care. Therefore, I do not support proposals to tax employer-provided health benefits.
Unfortunately there are a number of myths being perpetuated about health care reform, like the claims that reform would lead to rationed care, hurt Medicare, or allow the government to make end of life decisions for you. All of these claims are false. Some are also spreading the false rumor that the legislation would cover undocumented immigrants. Says it all right there. If they don’t have the courage to call the lawbreakers “illegal” aliens, they don’t have the courage to face the citizens of their own country, either. This man is a coward sans conviction.
I am feeling good about Fimian’s chances in ‘10. Given the changing demographic of the 11th, and the overall ‘08 elections, he did very well, especially as a novice politician against Connolly who had the perch of County Chairman at the time.
He's new at this, and slow in answering correspondence.

Here's how we do it ~ unlikely we can get him voted out ~ the national Democrats spend too much money on his campaigns, but we can work together to convince him and his wife that he hates this job more than anything.
I remember the demo ~ didn't know he was doing a "thing" over at the retirement home, but guess he was there, and the demo people (voters) were at the side of the road.
I don't think any of the folks in that particular retirement home are actually residents of Fairfax County, nor are they registered to vote here ~ be interesting to start running their names against OTHER voting registers SOMEWHERE ELSE.
I think Canoli and some of the ol'gals from the NEA retired later to a private home over on Oriole Avenue that's regularly used for Democrat fundraisers (there are a couple of such places BTW).
Doubtful Mrs. Canoli knew about that, but she must suspect, of course.

...but there is NO requirement or procedure to verify citizenship, so everyone who applies will be considered “legal.” The Dems are such liars and should be called on this every time they spout the above statement.
Connolly had a closed “meeting” at a retirement home on the 25th. That’s the one he shows on his website.

This guy was such a liar, "death panels are silly" and he's so out of touch. His talking points are from about a month ago and they are out of date. The Senate took the death panels out, the WaPo admitted that there was truth in the death panel charge and it's a loser.
This tool was an embarassment for his arrogance, lying, misinformation. Fox News was guilty of not challenging the lies. Why else watch Fox, if they don't challenge the lying elitists?
If Canoli were in tight with the Saudis and they'd found out about Moran (which they know) Canoli would be turned into a salami sandwich!
