The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 32% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-two percent (42%) Strongly Disapprove.
Thats the highest level of Strong Disapproval yet recorded for this President and it gives Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -10

Overall, 47% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President’s performance.
That matches the lowest total approval yet measured for Obama. Fifty-two percent (52%) now disapprove.

Thanks for graphic
Trend continues to be our friend - hard to believe he gained in strongly approve.
Good deal. from what I gather from the limited TV I watch, there are pundits and analysts who will look at the sub-50% approval as a significant watermark.
Interesting how the “strongly approve” line has rebounded some lately. That must be left-wingers taking the bait and getting happy about Obama going after the CIA.
That’s the important number. 47% approval.
I remember a -12 right before the Gates scandal. Glad to see him losing ground again.
I thought the conventional wisdom was that his numbers grew/didn’t fall as FAST when he was out of the office?

Three years and four more months of this America-hating, dangerous man. Think we’ll make it?
Seems Rasmussen usually cheers up our Sunday mornings.
But we still won’t know how he’ll do in next year’s congressional elections, unless and until they poll all the dead people, who generally vote Democratic in a unified block. In large, urban coastal areas, they can be decisive, unless there are large numbers of PO’d living people who turn out in great numbers. That was the case in Florida in 2000, where PO’d Cubans furious over the raid on the Gonzalez home narrowly outnumbered the boost the Dems got from dead people in the Southern three counties, where dead people turn out was very heavy. That scenario might repeat itself in individual congressional and senatorial races in 2010, especially since ACORN has been busily recruiting not only dead people, but also fictional people, a growing, and soon-to-be key Democratic constituency.
No, he'll be one of those obey him or die types.
More moderates and even liberals are waking up. Look at the responses on computer forums to the internet takeover issue.
Eventually they will not be able to find a sample group to keep him above 45%.
He’s been sub 50 approval before in the Rasmussen poll although it was 49% IIRC. Pundits dismiss Rasmussen because he polls likely voters and his numbers run more negative for O than other polls. When he hits sub 50 in Gallup you can expect a reaction. That reaction will be to point out how many other presidents were below 50% in approval ratings and how effective they managed to be.
That would be logical - plus being off center stage and on vacation tends to mitigate
No, Rasmussen re-weights Democrats and Republicans at the end of each month. He hasn’t announced this month’s re-weighing and it would be a bit early, but I expected a sudden drop when he did: Rasmussen has missed Gallup’s recent opinion-poll declines for Obama; I figured people are switching party affiliation. When that happens, Rasmussen’s technique is blind to those shifts, until he re-weights.
Take this for what it’s worth, but it seems big 0 can’t please anyone these days, even his base:

Well, he has been on vacation and kept his mouth shut too. Personally, I think he is stupid messing around with the CIA. He had better have a good CYA plan.
