There is a UN plan for getting people out of the heartland, I think it is called the Wildlands project.
My 87 year old MIL was stressing about how they are trying to kill agriculture. Many people don’t think that is true because of the people who would starve but that is their goal, to kill off the common folk (anyone who doesn’t agree with them) and all poor and sick and save the planet for themselves.
Just like Hitler, they want their Aryan race.
As i recall, at one time Uncle’s fall back comm system in extremis was CW radio using Morse Code. I don’t know what it is now. I think one watt will get you across the country.
We could name it "NotSoFreeRepublic.com".
EmbattledRepublic.com
I want to ask everyone here that honestly thinks that its a possibility that this internet censorship will happen especially targeted sites like here at FR just what would be the best approach here?
Go out and buy RIGHT NOW a cheap CB for local communication?
What specifically is the desired longer range radios? I personally have no idea whats the difference between HAM, shortwave, HF, I do use a FM system through a repeater in my work vehicle but thats not available to have easy access for others.
I have been forced to leave my home for a week now and was unable to even have access to a computer, I feel that this should demand a priority, better to have something to still retain a semblance of organization.
If for instance we do decide to just call out on CB, we need a national call sign for passing on information and we should also discuss some form of security protocols especially when discussing any sensitive talk or rather maintaining a scope of security that not so friendlies could “troll” CB as well to send spam, false or misleading news.
This is beginning to feel as though we should organize trusted local cells, that we actually SEE the other freepers if possible to establish trust. Since I happen to live in Alaska I can pretty much say almost anyone would be easily identified especially that we have not that many freepers up here.
I am very concerned about this, its not a time to become complacent. If nobody steps forward to establish over the air radio call signs I will take the initiative, we can sort it out afterwords.
Loosen those boot strings _Jim, they're cutting off the blood supply to your brain already.
I think it would be more Zero’s style to try to jam FR with trolls hired from SEIU.
Over a week ago it seemed to me that that is exactly what was happening, I have been gone and I’m just feeling out things here and trying to get a sense of whats the big issue. I was major out of touch, no internet or puter access all last week.
I have also been giving this subject a lot of thought.
I don’t think they would even consider totally shutting down the internet. They use it themselves, and the commerce loss would kill their own procurement systems and would kill their own communications too.
I think they would ‘filter’ IP addresses - smart data switches can just ignore certain IP’s. Think of it like a large version of a firewall.
CB is useless for mass communication as is HAM radio (how many have shortwave radios today?) Plus, they are excruciatingly slow for data transmission.
Bulletin Boards are way too slow due to the limitations of dial-up, and limited to one connection per phone line at a time.
Personally, I think we need some dedicated Patriots who are adept at packet radio (Hams use this), Repeaters (like Hams use on 2 meter and other freq.), Ethernet networking, wireless WIFI to develop a National Freedom Wireless Network.
If we could set up a peer to peer Ethernet wireless network (many of these are capable of 1-5 miles), the software is already out there for scanning to find possible connections in any area. We would be able to use server software (freeware) like Abyss, you could feed multiple mirrors that would update around the country fairly quickly.
None of this would pass through any controlled data switches, and would be very very hard to trace without thousands of RDF monitors around the country, and even then, they would mix right in with all the other wireless devices out there.
Wasn’t that the idea of going digital on TV? To free up bandwidth for public wireless internet. Maybe the 2.4 or 5 Gigahertz bands would serve. where no license is required.
Anyone else have any thoughts on this?
“Morse code isnt needed for any ham license any more.”
That’s good. I’ve forgotten all that.
Thanks for the info. I’ll check it out.
Good idea. But what if there is no internet? What if the President decides to use his power to turn off private access to the net before the confiscation begins? How will we notify others of what is happening?"
Why not make the "line in the sand" the turning off of the internet instead of gun confiscation? Make plans before that happens, and when it does, you and your buds know where to go, all fully armed. Let's face it, if things go down so far that Obeymao feels compelled to shut down the net, it's already on at that point. Why wait for him to come after guns before fighting back?
That's just an example, of course. Many might be ready to go if this death care bill passes, or if they try to shut down conservative radio, while others might feel compelled to act at a different time, like after they shut down the net. If we wait to act until after he starts taking guns away, it might be too late.
“I joined a Yahoo group that was going to use the new walkie talkies for emergency communications but it never took off. Those can be used along with cbs for local communication...we need to start now....”
Great suggestion. I know some folks around here that have some super walkie-talkies. If you get into it pay for the good stuff. The cheapies don’t go that far and the batteries don’t last. An inexpensive solar re-charger is a good thing to have too.
Good thoughts! Communications could be encrypted, making it a private network, and it would be independent of public infrastructures.
The trick would be establishing peer to peer wireless connections that cover the distances. Ideally, there would be enough p2p connections to create some redundancy.
Agree. I was thinking that HAM radio might be the way to go, too.
I think it’s simple to simply receive. To transmit, you need a license. True?
the FCC have dropped it
They will just ask Jim to hand over the list. He’s had to turn in names before. If they come in force what choice is there? They will get them one way or the other.
Just what would you suggest for an average person that knows little about all this complicated sounding packet switching stuff?
Basic? I can go buy a CB right now, I could peruse a good deal on fleabay, or I could rely on some expert advice. otherwise I’m going to act like John Connor in Terminator 3 here and just wing it all on my own, my own broadcast to whoever cares to listen on whatever equipment I can procure.
