We have had nature's own barriers for quite a while now: war, starvation, rampant greed, plagues that have wiped out millions, a lowering of inhibitions against unethical termination of human life . . . I've had about enough of all of them.
I'm curious to know what kind of nature's barriers you are thinking of.
“...war, starvation, rampant greed,...”
None of these things are nature’s barriers. Perhaps disease is, but here is a point to ponder. No matter how many people, earth seems to make room for more. It is a naturally occurring process, as is weather. Oceans narrow and deepen leaving more land on the surface. Hawaii is land creation in progress. It isn’t the only place. Undersea volcanoes create new land masses continously.
Resources, including oil replenish themselves. The control exercised over these resources is strictly man’s doing, not nature’s.
Forests are thriving, but we are told they are not. Forests and any other kind of vegetation will grow and grow and regrow. If you don’t tend to an asphalt highway, grass will grow on the highway or a cement sidewalk through the tiniest crack even if you can’t see it before the blades of grass poke through.
Nature provides and those in control manipulate it to their own benefit.
The burden of proof of the problems of overpopulation is on you. We don’t have to prove that there is a “right” population for the earth. You do. And I don’t think you can. Malthus was proven wrong many, many times.
