A lady does not tell dirty jokes along with men and she does not tolerate men telling dirty jokes in her presence. She does not swear, and she is not considered one of the guys. In spite of new fashion trends, a lady always dresses appropriately, leaving a lot to the imagination. When at a social gathering, a lady does not do things she will regret the next day. Above all, a lady is well-mannered, dignified, gracious, and kind. Sounds like a great wife. But it the mean time...

History is full of strong women. Women achieved a lot in 19th and early 20th century America, and were respected and looked up to as civilizing influences. But then the Feminists came along and convinced the women that they were powerless and oppressed -- but, if they were willing to act like whores, they could gain widespread respect.
How's that workin'?

Well, kidding aside, she’s entirely right. Not to offend anyone, but the whole point of the sexual revolution and the feminist women was to enable women to behave just as badly and stupidly as men. This can be fun, no doubt, but it doesn’t lead to happiness and the good life in the long run.

BRAVA!!!!!!!!!!!! I have always taken great care to be ladylike at all times, including the writing of thank you notes following social occasions or for gifts. It is sad to see the niceties of what was considered common courtesy go out the window - sadder still to see young women allow themselves to be degraded in such fashion as they do today. I have raised my daughter to be a lady as well, and I am very proud to say that at fourteen, she is not only stunningly gorgeous and possesses the intellect of Albert Einstein, she is also - a lady.

Great read. Where is the “Where have all the Gentlemen gone?” version? Both are sorely needed in today’s society.

Not very good. I have a wonderful, good looking, hard working, conservative, 27 yr old son, and he is having a hard time finding a nice Catholic girl to settle down with.

I know a couple women who lead what could politely be called a "wild lifestyle". Okay, they have a level of promiscuity that would make an alley cat blush.
They're always whining about how they can't "settle down" and find a husband.
Well, DUH.

Yeah, that whole equal pay for equal work thing, moving beyond the days when the likes of Harvard Law grad Sandra Day O’Connor could only find work as a legal secretary, way overblown.

I was raised by a
very old-fashioned lady, and to this day I'm uncomfortable wearing slacks in church or a bikini on the beach. I say please when I order deli meat, thank cabbies for the ride (and tip heavily), and never enter taverns or stay out all night.
Old folks like it, but my contemporaries think I'm repressed.

Face it. When women were fully enabled to have the big ‘O’, they became the same as men. But can I imagine my mother having the big ‘O’? I’m not that secure.

...Men's influence over women has been so great that they have been virtually able to form women's manners and morals and code of conduct. They have set the pattern for femininity and women have broken their necks trying to be what men wanted them to he. And if you doubt, this, consider what a change has come over the behavior of women in the last few years. As long as men admired modesty in women every girl was a prunes and prisms miss who went swathed in draperies from head to foot. As long as men demanded chastity in women they kept themselves as pure as snow. As long as no man would have been seen with a drunken woman the sweet young things sang "The lips that touch wine shall never touch mine." But now, when it is the loose living girls who pet and drink and smoke and go on wild parties who have the most dates, girls have cast their inhibitions to the wind and are just as tough as men want them to be. It was men's influence that kept women good. It is men's influence that is dragging them into the mire.

I never would have thought that because I don’t have tattoos and piercing or dress like a hoochie Mama, or have a filthy mouth, I would be considered old fashion.
You can’t command respect if you act like a sleaze.

Tell him to wait about 10 years and you may present him to my daughter.........

Lately, young women have taken to denigrating themselves and each other as sluts and hos. When women playfully call each other these things they make it okay for men to do it too. Much like the way Eve Ensler and her Vagina Monologues reclaimed the c-word, women on college campuses are reclaiming slut. I have seen many young women sporting slut backpack patches, and drinking from party cups with slut scribbled across the side. Reclaiming demeaning words does not empower women, and it certainly does not dilute their original meaning. With all of these self-proclaimed sluts on college campuses, conservative women should refrain from partaking in this trend and insist on calling themselves, and acting, like ladies. And if all this isn't working, get a tramp stamp.
Nothing says "come and get me" like ass-antlers.
To: Kaslin
Women need to figure out that they can EITHER act like sleazy whores OR they can be respected. It’s one or the other. Act like a sleazy whore, and you’ll be treated like one. Act like a dignified lady, and you will not only be respected, but will hold the awe and wonder of men.
