"In recent days the spin-doctors have done their best to portray Senator Kennedy as a devout Catholic."
"And, finally, how many other Catholic politicians will be emboldened to emulate his behavior because the honor the Church is extending to him?

The media and let's face the Catholic church knows that all this impressive pomp and ceremony over a democratic icon is reinforcing the Catholic vote, especially for the Catholic Hispanics.

Hey, Kennedy was a champion of open borders, socialism, and pacifism in the face of Islamic terror and Communist aggression. That puts him squarely in the camp of a depressingly large segment of the Catholic clergy, bishops included.

Try to catch a rerun of EWTN The World Over where Raymond Arroyo said he heard that the family had requested the cathedral and were turned down, ths priest on his show was excellent, a really great show tonight, Brent Bozell also on about faairness doctrine. The priest pointed out that two weeks ago when Eunice Shriver died the Pope sent a letter of condolence to the family but no letter as yet had been sent to teddy’s family. Eunice was prolife.

This article nails it. I think the spectacle of the “canonization of Saint Theodore” is obscene and an insult to God, to the Holy Roman Catholic Church, and to Catholics everywhere. Every single one of these so-called pro-choice zealots should be denied any sacraments and should be excommunicated — unless they repent and their deeds reflect their repentance. That’s rather harsh, but so is the wrath of God. You play, you pay.

“Plus he’s being buried in Arlington, not in consecrated ground and Pope Benedict XVI silence speaks volumes.

As a Practicing Catholic I believe Arlington is consecrated ground. Consecrated by the men and women who gave their lives in the service of this Country.
Kennedy does not deserve this honor.

Obama does not belong in a Catholic Church that in itself is a disgrace and Major Scandal.

These Hierarchs who allowed this farcical church service have no Souls.

It causes me to wonder if T.K. forced some girl to have an abortion in a crises over his political reputation and therefore either had to come to terms with the murder of his own child or cover up his guilt by relentlessly pounding away at justifying abortion. In any case it is very strange to turn from being pro life to rabidly promoting the mass executions of countless innocent babies.

The buck stops at The Pope. It is he that according to Catholic doctrine holds the authority over everything that goes on in the Catholic Church. It is he that is responsible for allowing such things as this fraudulent funeral display as well as many other examples of fraudulence such as allowing wicked politicians to not be excommunicated from The Catholic Church. He is clearly not the infallible Vicar of Christ on earth. Sincere Catholics must realize that he is so very, very fallible and obviously too weak to preform his necessary duty as head of The Catholic Church. Rely only on Jesus Christ directly for salvation. Take direction from God's Holy Word. Do not rely on the fallible traditions of men but rather only upon The LORD God Himself.

According to the First Vatican Council The Catholic Church established that:

If anyone thus speaks, that the Roman Pontiff has only the office of inspection or direction, but not the full and supreme power of jurisdiction over the universal Church, not only in things which pertain to faith and morals, but also in those which pertain to the discipline and government of the Church spread over the whole world; or, that he possesses only the more important parts, but not the whole plenitude of this supreme power; or that this power of his is not ordinary and immediate, or over the churches altogether and individually, and over the pastors and the faithful altogether and individually: let him be anathema.

By all means celebrate the death of a drunken, debauched, murdering POS whose only attachment to things Catholic was attendance when it was politically necessary.

This is no better than doing rhe same for some Mafia capo.

BTW, there STILL is no room in the Catholic Church for me. Why, because I still hold on to traditional Church teaching.

The Church’s credibility has once again been undermined by the hierarchy of the Church in Boston. This scandal is even bigger than the one enabled by Cardinal Law because of its bad message and long ranging implications.

The topic of the funeral was addressed last night on EWTN's live program The World Over Live. One guest, Fr. Sirico of the Acton Institute, stated very much the same thing as this article. He noted, however, that Cardinal O'Malley will not be officiating, nor will the funeral be held in the Cathedral. As to the eulogy to be delivered by Obama, Fr. Sirico noted that in the GIRM (General Instructions of the Roman Missal), eulogies are forbidden during the Mass. Any eulogy may only be delivered after the service has been concluded. He also noted that having Obama deliver a eulogy at the Kennedy funeral was scandalous.

One caller also pointed out that there will be many government appointed and/or elected CINOs at this funeral mass who will bring additional scandal by presenting themselves for communion. One can only wonder how this will be handled.

Ted Kennedy may have done all the nice things people related in eulogies, but he also advanced the cause of abortion in countless ways. I totally agree that this is totally confusing to anyone trying to determine what the Church teaches.

I wish the Catholic leadership in America would speak out forcefully against his “life’s work” but too many of them are politicians. I wish the Vatican had been less tepid. However, we must remember that the Church only condemns the sin, not the sinner. In the end, the Church leaves it up to God to judge. The problem is that this creates scandal when you have someone like Ted Kennedy being proclaimed a devout Catholic. He was a devout CULTURAL Catholic.

Today is a sad day for the Catholic Church because it allowed the ignorant to be influenced by the media that is driven by evil. It reinforced the confusion people have about Catholics.

We must remember that Peter was very weak at times and yet he was good enough to serve Christ’s purposes. Many of our current American bishops are flawed. We must just rejoice in the truth of the dogma and keep our eyes on that. The theology is not flawed.
