“Also at KOMO its possible to listen to police and fire scanner live,”
Do they still have police radio scanners? My dad had them back in the 1970s but I’m not sure if they work this day and age with more modern and private communication between officers.
Is anyone injured?
A suspect is in custody. Still looking for another, named Blake, white male, about 33.
Don’t know.

“I-5 shut down near Northgate; police looking for shooter”
SNIPPET: “Focusing on a wooded area near North Seattle Community College, police were pursuing at least one suspect. A second possible suspect was seen running across the freeway. At about 10:45, one suspect was seen with his hands in the air, according to transmissions on police radio channels. He apparently told police the other suspect had an AK-47.The freeway is closed between Lake City Way and 145th Street, according to The State Patrol.”
Don’t know. Just saw the link for it there.
Yah, they're still around. Sometimes police/fire use encrypted comms, but sometimes not. Tonight they seem to be talking about this stuff in the clear.
Wonder what info they were given to come up with a suspect.
Oh, great. :(
Q13 News is talking to one guy who called police who said it sounded like a CO2 gun or BB gun. He said it did not sound like a hand gun.
Are you able to access it ok, and hear what’s happening?
Don’t know if they were shooting at random traffic yet?
Shut the freeway down for a BB gun?
Mostly they don’t work anymore. Nowdays they use encription and special radios that jump frequencies several times a second. If you don’t have a radio programmed to jump the same frequencies the same time, you can’t hear a thing. Lots of small communities still use the old style radios though.
Nope, unknown at this time.
The police helicopter is apparently up and officers are in the area on the ground.
Yah, it’s remarkably good. Have to be careful though, since you hear *everything* happening around the county.
“Shut the freeway down for a BB gun?”
Thats what the caller said. He said he was about 100 yards away from the shooter so seemed pretty certain.
Thanks. Scratch a police radio off my Christmas list.
They’re going digital dude. Just like everything else on the planet.
Suspect “gone to ground”.
