Fox News commentator Glenn Beck acted stupidly when he went on a TV talk show last month and called President Obama a racist.
Oh, boy. I've gone and done it now. Using the now infamous Beck Standard for Racist Speech, with that statement I have just crossed the line and revealed my own deep-seated hatred for white people.
Chalk it up to that wacky mixed-race blood that courses through my veins, and the president's.
Fortunately, I have some local backup on this one, because the group that launched a nationwide movement to strip the network host of his advertisers - and ultimately - his Fox Network soapbox - has its roots in Oakland.
So far, ColorOfChange.org, a political organization founded in Oakland to provide a political voice for African American Hurricane Katrina survivors, has racked up an impressive list of companies that have joined the boycott. Among the many giants on the list are AT&T, Campbell's Soup Co. and Procter & Gamble.
At least three dozen corporations have pulled advertisements from Beck's show since the group began its efforts within days of Beck's infamous statements about Obama made during a guest appearance on another Fox talk show July 28.
"This president, I think, has exposed himself as a guy, over and over and over again, who has a deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture, I don't know what it is," Beck said.
When Fox co-host Brian Kilmeade pointed out that most of the staffers Obama has hired are white, Beck kept going.
"I'm not saying he doesn't like white people, I'm saying he has a problem. ... This guy, I believe, is a racist," he added.

I predict Glenn Beck will win this bout.
Isn’t deeps seated hatred for white people a virtue on the left? It seems to me they sure share the tent with some vile racist bigots that for some reason the respectable conservatives play lap dog and never bring up.
Oakland? Could be a two-fer for the tagging problem. Just float the rumor the one of Beck’s sponsors is Rust-Oleum.
I guess the author hasn’t bothered to check Glenn’s ratings of late.
When did the boycott of Kanye West begin? Did I miss it, Chip?
Democrats.com also pushed the boycott.
Boycott the corporations that bowed to Socialists.
can only think of 3 organized groups based in Oakland...
- ACORN
- Black Panther Party
- A’s Fan Club
(with the latter small enough to meet in a booth at Denny’s every other Thursday)
“I’m not saying he doesn’t like white people, I’m saying he has a problem. ... This guy, I believe, is a racist,”- Glenn Beck
Isn’t being racist against white people not liking them?
46 sponsors have pulled from the show. Ratings mean nothing when there is no $$$ from sponsors.
Clorox is an Oakland-based company. They pulled their advertising from Beck.
I’ll say it! Chip Johnson hates white people.
these homosexuals who oppose america will need to get as much tv coverage as they can because america’s airwaves are being retaken from the socialists that are trying to take away the 2nd amemdent, and those as glen back will always stand for the freedom that islamobama wants to give the terrorists.
they will only use this to kill christians. we must support glen beck.
America! it aint no moe
Narry a word when the left was accusing Ronald Reagan of being a racist. You see, only democrats can make that accusation. Obama is clearly a racist in every sense of the word and a socialist and a communist and........
Beck is absolutely correct. The POS in the WH is a racist
Not necessarily. During slavery the slave owners didn’t necessarily hate Black people. But, the act of keeping slaves was/is seen as racism. By virtue of keeping a particular race or ethnic group from having equal access to services is considered being racist, but does not require an act of hatred. It could just be an economic or political consideration.
Don't act like FOX News Network managers are stupid and blind like the pukes doing MSNBC.
