The convicted sex offender accused of snatching Jaycee Lee Dugard from a South Lake Tahoe street 18 years ago, then fathering her two children, told a Sacramento television station that "a digusting thing'' took place but that his life has "been straightened out.''
Phillip Garrido told KCRA 3 in a telephone interview that "you are going to be completely impressed'' when more details of what took place are revealed.
"It's a disgusting thing that took place with me at the beginning,'' he told the TV station. "But I turned my life completely around and to be able to understand that, you have to start there."
Garrido, who was arrested along with his wife Nancy, said his business, God's Desire, has "kept me busy the last several years.''
"And you're going to find the most powerful story coming from the witness, the victim -- you wait,'' he told the station. "If you take this a step at a time, you're going to fall over backwards and in the end, you're going to find the most powerful heart-warming story."

Cinder block and concrete construction, steel roof, and the pair go in naked, with the entry sealed, again with cinder block and concrete, after their insertion. 6'x6'x6' should about do it.
Wait a couple of months, bulldoze the structure, then rebuild, ‘cause CA seems to breed the beasts, and we'll need it again...
My problem is how to rehabilitate the mother and kids, and there I haven't a clue.
Plus, what is owed to them due to the failure of society to take this pervert out of circulation, and exactly how CAN you compensate the victims?
I'm trying to imagine a bizzaro universe in which I would.
It’s a thing called free will.
It could only be heart-warming in a Liberal/Progressive way. The Mercury is about as Liberal/Progressive as they come and their support for the sex offender is obvious.
“you are going to be completely impressed’’
Can you say Sociopath?
If I had my way I’d bury him alive.
“I find myself wanting to know that the girl and children are now well cared for.”
Since Jaycee hadn’t had social interaction or attended school after age 11, and the two little girls never had, I’m worried that they’re all going to suffer from arrested development. Can any amount of time and love fix this?
Horrible, disgusting story; there’s no penalty too extreme for these two people.
Now that would be a “heart warming” story...
“we all know what would have happened to him if he were convicted in Texas...”
Ron White has some good comments on the Texas justice system!
Really?
“Dugards disappearance devastated Probyn and his wife, who later separated.”
I wonder if this will bring the whole family back together again. That would be great.
What a fricking bowel burger!
if God's will was in control for several years, this young woman would have been released several years ago, and the perp would have turned himself in for proper punishment.
Prepping for an insanity defense, I suppose.
What about the girl? God pretty much knew what was going to happen to her, didn’t He? What choice did she have in any of this?
Think positive...They have many previously unknown joys to experience...
UNTIL THEY UNDERSTAND WHAT OBAMA IS DOING!
Somehow Mr. and Mrs. Garrido’s “heartwarming” story pales by comparison. Unfortunately, there's nothing on earth that any sane person would do that would that would be justice, and, obviously, Mr. Garrido believes his Christian faith has absolved him of guilt. That's as it may be, but he must understand that to be forgiven means you make restitution. He wasn't ready to go quite that far. Salvation is a great gig if there are no consequences.
Evil monsters are nothing new. They hark back to Cain.
Tragically, the crime of the Garridos destroyed any semblance of a loving family to come back to -- divorce and understandable extreme grieving have left huge scars on the Mother and Step Father. The three main victims have been deprived of any semblance of a life, no medical care and the "home schooling" sound like a cult like indoctrination. The state can provide for the physical needs but the emotional and spiritual needs of these people -- parents and children -- will need the village's involvement. As a nation and in spite of Hillary's nonsensical book, we lack this kind of environment. They need aunts, uncles. grandparents and neighbors. Unfortunately, many Americans don't want to get involved. We depend on government.
In a twisted way, Garrido probably believes he did them good. Like the Spanish Inquisition.
