Doctors: Please Consider Doing Something That Does Not Come Naturally to Most of Us. Having hundreds or thousands of doctors from around the country attend a rally against socialized medicine may make a difference. Traditionally most of us have not wanted to get involved in politics. However, America and American Medicine is at a historic fork in the road. President Obama’s path of nationalizing medicine will do great harm to us in many ways. Socializing 1/7th of the American economy hurts us in spirit and character, economically and medically. America was founded on the principles of small government, free markets, liberty and caring for oneself. The great new power of the state pushed by the President makes us all smaller people relying on the massive state to care for us, our patients and our families. The intense price controls, regulation, massive bureaucracy and profit motive drained from the system will lead to severe rationing, loss of excellence in medicine, long waiting lines for care and degradation of our standing as physicians. The enormous state run health system will do what it always does and deplete our national treasury particular1y for the coming generations. Please do something you normally do not do - stand together with your colleagues at a rally in Washington. Let your colleagues know about this as well.

Join the doctor rally from 5:30-6:30 and take part in a press conference following the rally.

Now Is the time to speak up and let Congress know your resistance to the big state, socialism and government-run healthcare.

my father always said the AMA was the strongest organization in the world. If they don’t approve of this they should squash it.

The AMA only represents about a quarter of physicians, though you wouldn’t know it from the media. In a fashion similar to many other organizations, they are not about doctors, they are about socialism.

It is of interest, in terms of their “strength”, that they are headquartered in Chicago.
