It is unfortunate that the UAW has ruined two of the three U.S. carmakers leaving Ford as the only one. It is understandable that Toyota wants nothing to do with the UAW going forward.

California lawmakers and Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger have appealed to Toyota to save Nummi and its 4,600 jobs, a majority of which are represented by the United Auto Workers union.

Again... no surprised there... I'm guessing that the UAW and liberal lawmakers made the plant very uncompetitive... it is really going to suck to live in Kalifornia.

I have been contacted by the American Association of Ignorant Thugs who demand that you retract this slanderous comparison of them with the UAW.

The Union boss wants us to believe that a business is obligated to retain the plant with the highest labor costs and the highest taxes.
I’m just waiting for the mob to make a hit on some Toyota exec!

I know. Ron, why don't you and your union thug buddies raise tarriffs on all foreign car companies to price them out of the market? Then when they complain, offer them a deal to reduce the tarriffs for that factory startup in California...

Hey, it almost worked just before.... the great depression. Right Ron?

Tell me about it... I left California five years ago after living there most of my life.

Hey! I noticed on another thread that you joined up FR in '98... just curious... how did you find out about it and was the site the same as it is now?

There is no sane reason to do international business from California. The Brady Bunch is all grown up and leaving town.
