I’d guess that the kidnapping was still an ongoing crime right up until she got loose (not knowing the details, I’m making the assumption that she just escaped).

I’d love to know a few more details that we’ll have to wait for. Such as why anyone would do this sort of thing, and why the young lady waited until she was 29 to resolve it. Weird story.
I am unaware of any statute of limitations on treason either but Ted Kennedy and John Kerry and Jane Fonda and Bill Ayers et al are unlikely to ever be prosecuted.
That’s absolutely amazing. Miracles do happen. I wonder how they were able to hold her for that long. Perhaps they brainwashed her to believe she was their daughter

You read or hear about some creep who keeps a kidnap victim in a basement or in a box under the bed or in an underground bunker in the backyard every now and then. And sometimes they even have spouses who know and say nothing to no one.
I’m sure her parents will be more than happy to dole out any punishment the court isn’t willing or able to.
Dear Lord I pray it is her. I remember that case well, at the time I was working in the gang unit. We had case updates everyday in briefing. I vividly remember one afternoon driving my black and white down a main drag and I spotted a vehicle similar to the suspect vehicle description, white female driver also matching the suspect description and teh sketch they had released with a little girl in the passenger seat going by us the other way. I alerted my partner and we flipped a U-turn, kicked on the lights and made a felony stop. The blood was racing for a few moments there, until they checked out ok. I know law enforcement in Northern California and Nevada worked tirelessly on that case and we all felt depressed when there was no immediate resolution....

That is something I will NEVER understand.
Doesn’t the criminal act extend as long as the victim is held?
I believe I can confidently say that there’s no statute of limitations in this case, considering that Antioch Police Department’s SWAT team just did a tactical entry raid on the suspects’ home and dragged them out by their hair.

Prayers this is the right “girl” for the sake of her family and for those of you who worked so hard to find her back then.
Any crime that has a possibility of capital punishment has traditionally been held not to have a statute of limitations. In many States, kidnapping with injury is a capital offense.
Too bad they didn’t resist, would have saved the taxpayers a lot of money.
I’m so happy for her parents.
