U.S. Navy: Pirates Fire on U.S. Helicopter

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — Somali pirates holding a hijacked ship off the coast of Somalia fired at a U.S. Navy helicopter as it made a surveillance flight over the vessel, the first such attack by pirates on an American military aircraft, the Navy said Thursday.

Remember that bumper sticker with the flag that says “these colors don't run” ... ??? We are now living in a nation of cowards, that helicopter should have immediately DESTROYED that boat ... no hesitation. But today, you can steal from a Best Buy because their policy won't let you get caught in their parking lot, you can aim a firearm at a US Navy helicopter and pull the trigger and nobody will do anything about it. Oh boy are “they” going to be surprised when all this cowardice “comes home to roost.” (’course it will be Bush's fault). This story made me sick, touch to be in the military or the CIA these days.

and kill all hostages too? because you don´t know how many hostages are trapped on the ship. i´m shure they would have fired back if it has been “just” a pirate vessel. (btw. i don´t think the pirates would be stupid enough to open fire if they had no hostages).
