Chambliss takes on Palin, commends Obama on health care reform

AUGUSTA,Ga---Dozens gathered at the Augusta Museum of History for a chamber of commerce forum on health care reform with Senator Saxby Chambliss. Chambliss attempted to set the record straight on what he calls misinformation.

"Say goodbye," said Susan Swanson who is fed up with Washington lawmakers. "Kick out the bums. Kick them all out."

She fears talk of health care reform.

"My concern is all this talk about death panels," said Susan. "All the bureaucracy that people have to go through."

The death panel rumors were given credence by Sarah Palin who campaigned with Georgia Senator Saxby Chambliss in Augusta back in November. Chambliss is looking to distance himself from Palin on his latest trip to Augusta.

"I don't agree with her that there will be death panels created by any of the plans that are out there," said Chambliss.

Susan doesn't know who to believe.

"It's not Washington," said Susan. "I don't believe Washington."

"I commend the president for spending political capital to bring this issue to the forefront," said Chambliss. "We've talked about reforming health care for years, but we've never gotten around to it."

Chambliss reached across the aisle as Senator Ted Kennedy, a champion for health care reform, loses his battle to cancer.

"The Senate is a family," said Chambliss. "We are all good friends within the Senate, and Senator Kennedy was a great legislator."

But nice gestures won't ease Susan's concerns about Washington.

"We're not going to give up our freedom of good health care to make them happy," said Susan.

Senator Chambliss says he would like to see the government provide tax credits. He says he could not support the current house bill that would pay for reform by possibly taxing the rich.

Thanks for posting the more balanced article. Remember, folks, we have to realize: the media wants us to hate each other...they will willingly lie about things people say to get us to fight amongst ourselves.

****He sure a heck liked having Palin campaigning for him then.*****

I wish I could have made it to that rally. Yeah Chambliss kinda disses Palin but he loved her last December.

The bold is editorializing. I seriously doubt that Chambliss is trying to 'DISTANCE' himself from Sarah.

I am more concerned about the coziness of the senators and congress persons. They're not sent there to make friends or to become auxilliary family members.

I don’t know much about Chanbliss, but nothing else I have read has him supporting any part of Obama’s plan. While I wouldn’t mind starting the Republican party from scratch, the devil is in the details. This article and some comments on the previous article look like circular firing squad to me.

Pray god’s promises back to Him.

The great thing is that we are learning who the self-serving, cowardly traitors are.

He’s a TARPer. He should be recalled on that basis alone. If this story pans out, I will look into the “recall” requirements since I live in Georgia and Chambliss is my Senatorial representative.

Okay, I have heard Chambliss in his own words. That’s it. I’ve had enough of Chambliss. I want to hit the recall button. I’ll be setting up a website and working to recall Chambliss. If he doesn’t understand government enough to realize once you give money to doctors (or anybody) to explain to a sick or possibly bedridden elderly person how much better off it would be for all concerned if they would just die naturally, it becomes a “death panel”. Once the government pays for it, instead of the patient, it will become a death panel.

As far as I am concerned, I will be inviting Sarah Palin to move here to Georgia and she can take his place in the Senate. But whether she comes to Georgia or not, I want Chambliss recalled as soon as possible.

Okay, if there is any fellow Georgians Freepers out there who want to sign the petition to recall Chambliss or or Isakson, or both, for that matter, please click here.

Please note: This isn't my website. I just found it and I signed it, but since I don't know who is actually behind this effort, I didn't contribute. That will come later.

In 2014, President Palin should give Saxby the cold shoulder when he needs help for re-election.

Senator Chambliss says he would like to see the government provide tax credits

Well, he's absolutely correct about this IMO. This idea returns health care to a consumer-driven free market to lower costs.

Looks to me like Chambliss is trying to get something done. And something DOES need to get done. Just not the socialist plan.

What a backstabbing POS Chambliss is, after Sarah came down to Georgia and literally saved his sorry a$$ from defeat.

I just hope she finds out about Saxby's remarks.

I just posted this to her Facebook Page. She'll see it.

Sarah has to be very careful about who she campaigns for. She said she would campaign for conservatives on either side. That will be difficult.

Mark Levin was reading from Liberty and Tyranny and basically said the same thing. Do you think the NEA will recommend his book for history class? Do you think the political science professors will use his book?

I live in Georgia and Chambliss goes to my church. Here is a recent article about a speech he gave in Toccoa opposing single payer Sen. Chambliss proposes health-care tax credits. From the article::
U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss told a packed house at the Foothills Centre on Tuesday that he does not believe a single-payer health-care system is necessary.

“If you want to buy a widget, you can buy a widget from somebody in New York, New Jersey, or Washington state as easy as you can from somebody in Georgia,” said the senator. “However, the federal laws prohibit you from buying a policy of health insurance that is issued by somebody in New Jersey. If we are truly going to let the free market operate and we are going to put competition in the health-care marketplace, you ought to be able to buy a policy of health insurance from any company you want to.”

For other in Georgia, here is a Rassmussen poll that indicates that 54% of Georgian's are opposed to the Congressional Health Plan
