Richard Cohen is disappointed. Obama isnt making use of his teachable moments. Whatthe grand teacher, the magnificent orator, isnt imparting wisdom to us or convincing us on racial-profiling or health care or much of anything else? Not really. Cohen doesnt say a lot about the content of Obamas messages, but he sure has plenty to say about Obama himselfsuch as his distinct coolness [and] an above-the-fray mien that does not communicate empathy. I think he means Obama is a snob.
Cohen cant quite bring himself to put it in those terms, but he does concede that the country needs health-care reform and success in Afghanistan, and both efforts are going in the wrong direction. The message needs to be fixed, and so, with some tough introspection, does the man.
The irony here is great. Obama won an election campaign conducted to a greater degree than any in recent memory based on a cult of personality. John McCain tried to ridicule it, but it remained the central focus of the election. Obama the reformer! Obama the heralder of New Politics! Obama was going to stem the rise of the oceans (or was it part the sea?). Columnists cooed about his temperament. Pundits marveled at his rhetoric. The iconography was creepy and it was omnipresent.
But what happens when the cult ends and the personality at the center of it becomes off-putting? Cohen essentially concedes that Obama has failed to communicate and, moreover, failed to bond with the American people. So now what?

That's because we're AMERICANS, he's not.
Since when does a damn COMMUNIST connect or bond with the American people?
When personality alone fails to persuade, bullets usually come next.
Somehow I don’t think the communist, obamanista bastards will win if they try that totalitarian “kill the Conservatives” sh!t with us.
I'd much rather listen to President Bush's stumbling over words caused by the fact that his thoughts were going faster than he could speak them, than Obama's "uh... uh... uh..." while he grasps at something to say when he doesn't have his teleprompter.

Exactly
Why dont we give Obama a tv show ....just keep him busy

The Obama Presidency is, and has always been, a creation of the Main Stream Media. They wanted him for President so badly their legs tingled. They wanted him so badly for President that they willfully ignored and actively suppressed any fact that would in any way lessen his chances of election.
If they had given Obama 1% of the in-depth scrutiny they automatically apply to ANY Republican (providing the dared to publish the results), he would not only NOT be President, he would not have gotten the Democrat Party nomination. His birth certificate would be ripped out of hiding and displayed, his college records would be found somehow, all of those other mysteriously missing documents would be on the front pages of newspapers around the nation.
He won because the Main Stream Media was willing to lie and cover up for him. But having gotten him into the White House, that same media could not teach him how to govern, and that is something he has never had to learn.
So he's screwing it up. As anyone with a half of brain could expect, and that same gaggle of MSM lying halfwits are running around with like chickens with their heads cut off wondering how to save their darling boy.
His logo looked strangely like the Obama icons.
What Happens When the Cult Ends ?
The patriots destroy all of the remaining the hardcore devotees and rehabilitate the innocent victims.
Jonestown comes to mind. Just how many gallons of Koolaid would be required?
It’s frustrating to see that even in this New Media age, Old Media remains king. Grr.
