The mayor of the North Jersey town where Libyan leader Muammar al-Qadhafi might stay next month during a diplomatic visit to nearby New York City blasted federal officials on Tuesday, from members of Congress all the way up to President Barack Obama, for not doing enough to stop the visit.
The truth is that it seems like theyre just going through the motions and its a fait accompli, Englewood Mayor Michael Wildes told POLITICO. Im disappointed that nobodys got moxie.
If this is the change that our president has endorsed and is directing our country where were reaching out to countries like Iran, Syria and Libya, he added, I would have bargained for another one.
Wildes, a Democrat who supported Obama, said he continues to have great confidence in his leadership. Its just that theres collateral damage that is unfathomable.
But Rep. Steve Rothman (D-N.J.), an early Obama supporter who represents Englewood, dismissed Wildess characterization, contending the mayor hasnt reached out to federal officials and doesnt know what theyre doing.
This matter has received the attention of senior people at the White House and the State Department, said Rothman, who began his political career as mayor of Englewood and is also opposed to Qadhafi staying in the town during next months United Nations General Assembly meeting in New York.

Kick the UN out of the US. There, problema solvedema.
Sure he does.
Khaddafi is a respected member of the Muslim community, which 0bama tells us has done so much to promote tolerance. His country was even elected Chairman of the UN Human Rights Commission a few years back. He must be here to contribute to the UN, which is the Hope of the World. /s
he wants to keep drinking the Kool-Aid but doesn’t like the flavor
That’s a good one!
:)
Englewood is probably the most moonbat and hack town in North Jersey. Every Obama loving group is present. I say it’s their tree, let them sit in it.
