President Obama’s privacy top priority (pool reporters banned from updating family daily activity)
Boston Herald ^ | AUGUST 25, 2009 | Hillary Chabot and Julia Rappaport

Adoring Vineyard vacationers largely seem to be fine with the Obama administration’s efforts to protect the first family’s privacy while out in public, though one expert said that runs afoul of Americans’ constitutional right to gawk at occupants of the White House.

President Obama’s aides have asked the press to lay off his young daughters during their Vineyard vacay, though Obama routinely trotted out Sasha, 8, and Malia, 11, for the press during the campaign.

The administration also has banned the pool of reporters covering the presidential visit from giving status updates on the Obamas’ activities, on pain of being kicked out of the pool.

Meanwhile, the Secret Service confiscated diners’ cell phones to prevent them from snapping photos at a Washington, D.C., burger joint earlier this month while first lady Michelle and her daughters ate there, according to the New York Post. Other news outlets made no mention of confiscations and reported excited patrons used camera phones, however.

Privacy for Obama but not for Citizens.

Obama “report your neighbor” websites.

Obama “get in their faces” door to door events

Obama “diversity panels” who want to shut down the internet.

Also if IIRC you can see the Chappaquidick bridge from the eighth hole. I may be wrong I’m going to check now.

Scratch that. Wrong bridge

War protest follows Obama

By Jake Berry
August 25, 2009

CHILMARK — On his first official vacation since taking office, President Barack Obama has tried to leave his work at home. So some demonstrators are bringing the issues to him.

Noted war protester Cindy Sheehan is scheduled to arrive today on Martha’s Vineyard to hold a series of peace vigils and other events to confront the president about the continuing wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Censoring the press and seizing the cell phones of citizens. Like everything else, this is the camel's nose under the tent. Special occasion. President's vacation. Need some privacy. Go right ahead. We understand.

Pretty soon, they won't need any damn special occasion. They'll just be censoring the press and blocking private outflow of information because [shrug] they've always done it that way.

Jeez, I’m with you. The fewer pictures of them floating about, the better.
And please, PLEASE, make sure no photographers are allowed anywhere near the swimming pool...

Do we know if he’s fasting? Has he been spotted in a restaurant?

I've been wondering the same thing. Usually a cutesy report about ice cream is issued when these people go on vacation. We'll see if one comes out this time (before sunset).

“Later, as he was finishing up his 9-hole round, he left a putt short. It was close enough for him; the president picked it up as a gimme’”

I’m no golfer - but is that typical to not finish it up? If it is - I’ll give him a break. If not, it probably says something about his narcisim.

You don’t give yourself a gimme. Your opponent does.
