Obama's Blunder (Going after the C.I.A.)
REAL CLEAR POLITICS ^ | August 25, 2009 | William Murchison

Posted on 08/25/2009 6:02:17 AM PDT by kellynla

If the left wing of the left wing of the left wing in American life doesn't control most of the Obama farmstead's best and richest acreage, it could be time for new spectacles -- since things surely look that way.

Attorney General Eric Holder's decision to go after the CIA has all the earmarks of policy designed to make left-wing hearts palpitate. What other purpose could it possibly serve? Not that of national security or common sense.

I have written deliberately "go after the CIA," notwithstanding the demurral of newly appointed special prosecutor John Durham, which concerns the supposedly "preliminary" scope of his investigation into alleged abuses perpetrated by CIA interrogators against terrorism suspects. The range of cases is gratifyingly small when you consider that Holder, following the blood sport instincts of the left, could have gone after higher-ups -- perhaps some of those in the Justice Department who advised President Bush on interrogation policy ( like John Yoo).

Alas, as we know from experience, investigations tend to start small then grow. Was Monica Lewinsky on Ken Starr's radar screen at the start of his inquiry into the Clintons' finances? Things get out of hand. The left of the left of the left hopes no doubt that will be the case with Durham's investigation. You find on that peculiar quarter of the political spectrum a lust to punish former Vice President Cheney himself (if not the president he served). Why rule out a battalion of CIA agents who imagined themselves to be preserving American lives?

Indeed, the Inspector General's Report, which Holder cites as evidence of doing, says various interrogations gleaned "intelligence that has enabled the identification and apprehension of other terrorists and warned of terrorist plots planned for the United States and around the world."

"Around the presidential neck, this spectacular blunder will dangle, albatross-like -- long after Obama starts to wish he'd never heard of the CIA or, for that matter, the left of the left of the left."

As one who interrogated more NVA & VC than I care to remember, "if" Durham attempted to question me;
my only response would be "Go *uck Yourself!" and then plead the 5th.

Semper Fi,
Kelly

2nd Notice to CIA:

You might want to start checking school records and birth certificates of a certain loon. Might be interesting.

I hate stories written like this...Do away with the simile/metaphor and give me the facts. This mish/mash stream of bizarre consciences is too much for me.

....it’s hard to tell how this one will go...the old-school hard corps CIA of years past would have crushed Obama for this treason....now days the Agency is so riddled with EOC hires that it’s a shadow of it’s former self...same with the FBI and NSA.

They should read Alinsky's rules again..

RULE 12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it." Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.

Not only are they going to get many repies like yours, but every time they go after one individual another will be going after them.....It's a NO WIN for 0.

I sure hope the CIA has collected enough on each of these political hacks to expose them to the American people and to get them either thrown out of office and/or thrown in prison.

I believe your on to something there, Its their job to snoop. If any one can uncover and expose information designed to be hidden, maybe leak it to National Enquire or where ever. Its going to be the CIA. Mail, phone calls, what ever.
Just for fun, Im sure Cheney has a few friends there...

watch your back zer0

Reminds me of what LBJ said when asked why he didn’t fire J. Edgar Hoover. “Because I’d rather have Hoover inside my tent pissing out than outside pissing in.” I can’t believe the administration is kicking the CIA out of the tent.

This really ticks me off that he has the nerve to go after the CIA when he has dismissed charges against the Black Panther terrorists who terrorize and intimidate voters in this country.

Well Holder can start that back on that trail(which Pelosi tried to hike but was sent screaming off of it), but it will lead right back to congress and Pelosi and the senate and congressional committees that over see the intelligence communities.

Americans are saying “stop the spending” so to distract us, the administration is saying lets put the CIA on trial.

YO!, NSA and FBI types watching this site!...the killer spending and corruption in our government is the main issue that needs to change. Our fiscal irresponsibility will make worse slaves of us then any torture of anti American terrorists ever will!

I do wonder what kind of discussions are going on in the deep dark secret cone-of-silence areas of the CIA building.

Obama was never the brains of the Obama machine. His entire adult life, Obama had Bill Ayers around to ask for advice. Now, he's been cut off from Bill Ayers and even his teleprompter.

All this Chicago machine stuff works great in Chicago. Lousy pretty much everywhere else. If a Chicago politician wanted to make a cop into a scapegoat, nobody would say boo.

There is absolutely nothing to be gained by this investigation. That is, if you are an American. obama shows himself (yet again) to be decidedly and decisively un-American.

obama OUT NOW!

Where's the birth certificate you socialist fascist thug?

This shouldn’t surprise. The American Left has long regarded the CIA as the enemy. Now that one of their own is in the White House, why wouldn’t they go after the CIA?
