ESTES PARK Bipartisan political leaders strolled through Rocky Mountain National Park this morning studying beetle-kill trees and changing vegetation patterns and agreed that nuclear power must be part of any comprehensive climate-change legislation.
Sen. Mark Udall, an Eldorado Springs Democrat, and Republican Sen. John McCain of Arizona are holding a formal hearing in Estes Park later today concerning global warming and its impact on national parks.
McCain called on President Barack Obama to come forward with a climate-change proposal to get the discussion started in Congress.

yeah his record is clear. He wants to fix something that isn’t broken. Nuclear power is good thing in my opinion but this isn’t the reasons or the excuse we should use to implement it.

Agreed. I don’t think McCain has ever read anything about Climate Change or Global Warming he just believes it because it is emotionally satisfying.

The only real difference between McCain and Obama is that we know, for certain, McCain was born in Canal Zone Panama....not Kenya/Indonesia/Canada/Whatever.....
Not much difference otherwise.
I trust McCain’s support of nuke power as much as I trust McCain with protecting our Southern border

McCain’s a Republican? When did that happen? Dang, a feller takes a couple days off and it’s like stepping back onto an alternate planet...

I think LFTR (Liquid Fluoride Thorium Reactors) will provide the energy of the future.
Agreed on Thorium reactors, but as I understand it a particle accelerator must be associated with Thorium reactors as they are not self sustaining - part of why they are safer than Uranium reactors. This is inconsistent with the claim in the link you cite that there are low capital costs associated with setting up Thorium reactors.
Please clarify if I'm missing something here.
To: caveat emptor
A particle accelerator is not required for the reaction.
Here are 2 excellent lectures on LFTR reactors:

One main advantage is the lack of significant nuclear waste.

Why does Arizona keep electing this moron? He is as stupid on Global Hoaxing as he is on illegal immigration. Please, Arizona, retire this senile old man.
