ON A blustery August afternoon in Edinburgh last week, the most celebrated military commander of his age was quietly doing the rounds with a group of injured British soldiers in the south of the capital. The commander of US Central Command, General David Petraeus, was talking about his legendary running exploits.
Ten years ago, he fractured his pelvis after falling 60ft to the ground when, at the end of a skydiving jump, his parachute collapsed. At the newly opened Army Recovery Centre in Edinburgh, funded partly by the Homes for Heroes campaign, Petraeus was attempting to encourage a soldier who, similarly, had suffered a pelvic injury. Ok, that may be true. Is General Schwarzkopf a principled conservative? I have actually not heard much about him or from him, since the end of the first golf war.
The point is, the higher one goes in the military, just like the higher one goes in business, the more you are conditioned to say & think politically correct terminology, to promote multi-culteralism & diversity training & acceptance, to promote & EMBRACE the pro-homosexual agenda, to promote affirmative action programs & promotions, to promote globalism in which every third word is globalist this or that, to downgrade U.S. sovereignty and promote open borders, to embrace & capitulate to Islam, to take away personal gun rights, to promote radical socialism, etc.
This is what goes on in higher military offices as well as middle to high executive business offices.
Well yeah, he’s in the armed forces. Publicly they have to be politically neutral.
