No, no, a thousand times no to this last Kennedy play.
Heres what this naked political ploy boils down to:
Sen. Ted Kennedy is basically asking the Massachusetts Legislature to repeal a law that he personally pushed through that very same Legislature in 2004. He would gut his own law in order to give a very unpopular governor the right to appoint a rubberstamp who might - might - provide the 60th vote in the Senate to ram through this Obama-care monstrosity that is vehemently opposed by an ever-growing majority of the American people.
Democracy in Massachusetts - you can smell it a mile away.

I don’t think Ted wrote the letter. He’s probaby comatose or already on ice and its just being hidden until the demwits can finagle another demwit lib into swimmer’s senate seat before its disclosed that he’s Tango Uniform.
In 2004 he pushed through a law that prevented exactly what he WANTS TO DO today
Democraps (espeically campaign worker drowning, womanizing, drunkards) have no shame at all.
And the people who vote for him too
This scumbag will be concerned only with his own vanity until the very end.
The same vanity that drowned Mary Jo Kopechne...
Ted couldn’t even make it a couple of miles to his sister’s funeral. He may already be a gone!
He only wants the rule to help him so he redefines the rule as he sees fit!!
Good for the Herald. Teddy’s judgement on display here at the end as screws the pooch with his bridge too far. As for the July 2nd date on the letter versus it becoming public on August 18th, well state police are asking Kennedy once again what happened during the intervening hours.
Teddy...it’s over. Your dad knew it when Jackie told him about Mary Jo. How come it is taking you 40 years more to realize it? I know...because Joe Sr. was always the brains of the operation. This is just residual from his original machinations.
I feel the same way. I find it hard to believe that he would want to be remembered for doing something like this in his final days.
Staff is another story. They have been working on this turkey legislation for years and want it passed.
For those who may not know, this is Howie's term for the management of the Boston Globe.
Slight correction
Teddy, Teddy, Teddy,
Ya’ll need to be very careful about what you ask for, because you may get it.
It is amazing that the the Dims want to change the rules as they go. The patriots of Massachusetts need to make sure that this does not happen.
Saying “no” to Teddy Kennedy isn’t just good politics. It might just save your life.
As a member of The Swimmer’s district (unfortunately) I am wondering which member of his family is going to be gifted with The Swimmer’s seat (and a very large seat it is, I may add). There was some local talk that the current Mrs. Swimmer would get the seat, or even Caroline, who would apparently suddenly remember she really lives on Martha’s Vineyard, and not in New York.
Maybe Zero Junior, Cadillac Deval himself, wants the big seat, since he’s dropping in the polls faster than The Swimmer can drop gallons of Glenfiddich.
Mrs. Swimmer has been angling for it for years. Common speculation is that’s why she married the old Chivas-sponge in the first place; he just lasted longer than she expected.
Yeah, Mrs. Swimmer must be jubilant. Bet she’s been trying on black dresses and veils for months now.
In the comments section, one of the posters said he has knowledge that Kennedy is just hours from passing away.
Uncle Joe Stalin, Adolph Hitler and Saul Alinsky are getting out a new deck of cards so they can all sit down for a game of poker with The Swimmer.
When Teddy does finally die expect Obama to pull out the “let’s get health care done for the gipper” card.
I am originally from MA and have hated the Kennedy name since I was a kid (a LONG time!). There’s something about being raised in an ethnic Irish Catholic neighborhood in Boston and hearing that name voiced in the same reverant tones as those used for the Pope that makes for a huge personal backlash. That and the murder of a young woman at Chappaquiddick has assured that I await that gasbag’s death with some anticipation.
What hurts the most is that the people of that state (including some fine relatives) continue to vote in members of the most criminal party this country has ever seen.
There are those who would be surprised at Kennedy’s antics? Not me.
