President Obama has opposed any expanded oil drilling off American shores largely on environmental grounds, turning a deaf ear to conservative cries of "Drill, Baby, Drill."
But now Obama may start hearing cries of "foul" after the U.S. Export-Import Bank promised Petrobras, Brazil's state-owned oil company, $2 billion in loan guarantees to help finance lucrative drilling off the shores of Rio De Janeiro.
Some see a contradiction in an executive branch agency, independent but with board members appointed by the president, facilitating abroad the very kind of energy exploration Obama opposes domestically.

The Chicago community organizer is organizing......
This is a pay-off to George Soros’s company for the millions he wasted trying to beat George Bush and fund the Obama campaign.
It is a payoff to Soros, a big Petrobras investor.
Soros pays the despicable democrat party millions to stop US drilling, and get cheap loans from the democrats to finance his own massive drilling in Brasil.
I understand the Brazilian company is George Soro’s single largest investment. Seems like the Dear Leader is paying back his supporters like Axlerod’s old firm is being paid back with federal dollars.

A contradiction?
A re-affirmation is more like it, the pay off of Soros
defines Obama to a t.
If any administration deserved investigation and imprisonment it’s his.
Bidders were sparse.
And guess what, Petrobtras was the #3 bidder.
Again, at risk of repeating myself. Why are the republicans all over this. Hold press conferences showing the total hypocritical stand taken by this administration. Hold the press conference and take note as to who is in attendance then call them to task when this story is not put on the news. Easy game to play but we seen unwilling to play. If we don’t play we will never win.
Between this travesty, and sending a convicted terrorist responsible for over 200 lives home on a private jet plane before his sentence has been served tells me more than I want to know about the scoundrels in power today. And we ain’t seen nuthin’ yet!
Ahem. This is the same Petrobras that Obama's master George Soros funds.
Petrobras: Buy and Sit Tight Like Soros (seekingalphacom 8/19/2009 David Enke)
As reported at Bloomberg.com, George Soros purchased an $811 million stake in Petroleo Brasileiro SA (PBR), (better known as Petrobras) in Q2. The Brazilian oil company is now the largest holding in his fund, amounting to 22 percent of the total $3.68 billion of stocks and American depositary receipts held by Soros Fund Management LLC.
Soros, owns a ton of Petrobras.
Care to try and explain this action of your Dear Leader?
If the Health Care Bill isn’t 0bama’s Waterloo, perhaps the Brazilian Drill Bill will be.
Yeah it’s one of his top five holdings.
“Care to try and explain this action of your Dear Leader?”
Yes. Realizing that the GOP is running around like a chicken with its head cut off, BO thinks he can get away with anything.
He has been advised by Rahm “Ras Al Ghul” Emanual, that conservatives are so busy trying to find a Kenyan birth certificate and inventing “death panels” they probably won’t notice it.
parsy, who also thinks BO wants an excuse to go to Brazil to meet that little hottie he saw at the G-8 conference.
Oh come on Parsy, you are so obnoxiously arrogant on every other thread lecturing us Conservatives about our supposed addiction to “Araco-capitalism”, please enlighten us all on what your Dear Leader is doing here.
If I have been “obnoxiously arrogant” I apologize. I was just aiming for mildly pedagogic.
What “here” are you referring to?
parsy, who is trying to be more humble
After all it is only us evil right wingers that are all "aracho capitalists". There must be SOME explanation to explain why your holy righteous Democrat Leaders are doing this.
