Health Care Morality

O'Reilly interviews Sister Simone Campbell, who immediately cites Benedict XVI saying that when the market fails govt must step in.

They then explore what Jesus would do or say here. BOR is all over the place, says the federal govt should provide free health care clinics for the poor in every possible county.

But he says "...but if the country goes bankrupt in the process, which might happen, more people will be harmed, including the poor."

At 3:08 it gets ridiculous. Sister Campbell totally mauls the commandment against lying. "We've got 47 million people that don't have access to health care."

BOR: "No they do, they walk into any emergency room in the country, they have access to health care FREE."

Non sequitur Campbell: "Oh but then, please, please, then consider what that then does to those of us that have insurance, how it escalates OUR costs!"

What on earth does she think will happen if the govt gives these "47 million" all the free health care their hearts desire? That won't escalate her costs?

Well, it sounds like what she wants is to "distribute," i.e. shift, those costs from her business to everyone else's.

"I run a small business...and paying for health insurance for our employees is getting more and more difficult! We've got to find a way to rein in costs and not distribute -- [she catches herself here] -- not inappropriately use..."

Unfortunately BOR cut her off just as she was stepping in a deep pile. Distributing costs is exactly what she wants. He brought her on to tell us that morality requires us to provide health care to the poor, but she ends up calling for shifting her business burden onto the taxpayers.

Rules for Radicals

4. “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules. You can kill them with this, for they can no more obey their own rules than the Christian church can live up to Christianity”

Didn’t Obama declare sometime in the recent past that America was not a Christian nation? I find it amusing that he is now turning to spiritual leaders in the US to promote his health care reform on ‘moral’ grounds.

Regarding that silly “If Jesus (were) here...” nonsense—

***sigh*** If Jesus were here, He’d say “repent and put your faith in Me, otherwise perish.” Just like He was saying when He was here. He didn’t handle the inequities or persecutions of the Romans against the Jews while He was here. That was not His purpose and wouldn’t be if He came the first time today.

And if Jesus were here today, He’d be ruling with a rod of iron just as described in the Book of Revelation.

The best quote I’ve heard on this”
Render unto Ceasar what is Ceasar’s
Render unto God what is God’s
But never make Ceasar into a God. (Thou shalt not commit idolatry)
Only a ‘Progressive’ would take a virtue (charity) and turn it into a ‘right’!

~~RIGHT THERE!!! THAT is the crux of it!

So, Sister C., the uninsured ARE escalating OUR costs now??? So, how does it make ANY sense to FORCE us into a NEW government healthcare system where we’ll pay even MORE???

These people have NOOOOO brains!

How far the intelligence of nuns has fallen! This one wouldn’t be fit to sweep the convent compared to the nuns that taught me.

Ah, this nun is crazy. Where in the Bible does Jesus say its societies responsibility to take care of people?

It all goes back to what my High School Government teacher said, “Conservatives think liberals have bad ideas, Liberals think Conservative are bad people”.

Jesus wants us to give willingly and in secret. If there were free clinics that served the poor and supported by charity, then a Christian could make an anonomous donation and earn an eternal reward.

However, with Obamacare, that same person could have the same amount taken from his paycheck and used to support the uninsured/poor. He may still believe in the cause, but because he did not give voluntarily and in secret, he will not earn an eternal reward.

Conclusion: Obama is costing us our eternal reward.

This is what some people in liberal denominations fail to understand, namely, that the government is not governed by the church nor the gospel. The US government was NEVER intended to be a nanny state. The Founding Fathers purposely created a limited federal government. If individuals wish to create charities or a community chest, they are free to do so.

There is no charity in forced taxation.

Render unto Caesar what belongs to Caesar. Your own obligation to your fellow man is apart from any government program.

Did Jesus expect the Roman Empire to provide free health care to all subjects of Rome, or just Roman citizens? (sarc)
