I "leave him" nearly every time he's on. Simome is a nice enough guy, but he really shouldn't be subbing for The Great One.
Simone is certainly no Mark Levin, but don’t forget he’s mainly a music-centered radio host, and has been doing a Sinatra show for years. I have a real soft spot for Simone, since, (although the comparison is admittedly weak)
he’s about as independent-minded/commonsensical conservative for a “music guy” as the surprising Steve Malzberg is for a “sports guy”. Malzberg is WAY more overtly political than Simone, and better versed on the issues and the news of the day, but Simone has a easygoing sense of outrage (if that makes sense) that I always like to hear. PLUS, he is the ONLY person I have ever heard interview Ann Coulter from an entirely original perspective not totally determined by partisan politics, and talk to her primarily as if she were ALSO a real person, and they both shared many laughs over just how much is made of her as an Iconic RightWing Shrew, rather than just a woman with an opinion. THAT was refreshing.
SO. In closing, if there’s gonna be another Mark subbing for the great one, let’s have Mark Simone, who is a great change of pace from Levin, while maintaining most of the conservative attitude.
