A patient who owns a car lot that came to my Wifes office said she has received no money from the Fed, and until they do, none of the clunkers on her lot will be destroyed. They have them sitting in a closed off lot and will do nothing with them until they have money in hand. She also said the clunker destruction videos you have all seen are just for show, and that few dealers she knows have destroyed anything.

It'd be interesting if the dealers started having "clunker sales", with all running CARS trade-ins going for whatever the expected government credit would be - $4500 or $3500.

and that few dealers she knows have destroyed anything. That's very heartening! The thought of all that senseless waste was sickening.
