Well, the ‘RATS have got to do something to “save” their failed Social Security and Medicare programs. Those “historical” death panels should be able to get the job done.

I'm sure that these 'death panels' will be the same impartial goons that dealt with the Chrysler's Auto Dealership back in march 2009.

Contentions HR3200 does not mandate end of life discussions lack credibility. Those 1,017 pages must be evaluated after they metastasize throughout the U.S. Code. The bill profoundly impacts many bureaucracies, but for this analysis the impact on HHS requires review.

The stimulus bill, changing Title XIII, provided the HHS Secretary the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology to implement HR3200 provisions. This bureaucracy will adopt and utilize information technology providing an electronic framework for coordination and flow of recommendations and policies for knowledge, experience, duplicated or appropriate care, best practices and research, and reduction of medical errors.

Decisions will be guided by a panel exceeding 20 members with over 90% appointed by the dominate political regime and only one required physician. Among three separate reports, one evaluation must include health technologies meeting senior and disabled individual needs, and identifying innovation barriers. Health care provider participation becomes mandatory under Section 13112 of the HITACT Act, if one participates in any government program, including Medicare targeting seniors.

Congress provided no guidance for massive regulations needed for implementation. Obviously, the bureaucracy must define gate keeping guidelines deciding what information resides within their comprehensive information base. Regulations also reflect the intent of Congress (not will of the people), incorporating ideas politicians consider too sensitive for public debate.

Physicians currently discuss end of life issues when explaining proposed procedures, so legislation only confiscates privacy and freedom. Remember, just because you’re not paranoid, doesn’t mean they aren’t out to get you.

It's right there in the House bill. It is not in the end of life counseling section. It is located in Title IV, in the provisions that established the "Comparative Effectiveness Research Commission" to determine what medicine and treatments are effective enough, and, therefore, which the government will allow patients to receive and will allow to be paid for by "private" insurance. This is what Feldstein is talking about. These determinations are to be based on the treatment or prescription being economically "effective," depending on whether the patient (or a category of patients) is deemed worth the expense because of age, potential productivity, health, and other factors. It mandates the creation of a commission like the UK's National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence, or NICE, which assigns a value to a year of life based on age, existing conditions, etc. If a procedure or treatment exceeds that value, you don't get the medicine, treatment or procedure. Title IV of the House bill, HR 3200: TITLE IV—QUALITY 11 Subtitle A—Comparative Effectiveness Research SEC. 1401. COMPARATIVE EFFECTIVENESS RESEARCH. (a) IN GENERAL.—title XI of the Social Security Act is amended by adding at the end the following new part: ‘‘PART D—COMPARATIVE EFFECTIVENESS RESEARCH ‘‘COMPARATIVE EFFECTIVENESS RESEARCH ‘‘SEC. 1181. (a) CENTER FOR COMPARATIVE EFFECTIVENESS RESEARCH ESTABLISHED....— You won't even get a personal visit to the "death panel." This commission will determine what treatment you may receive without ever looking at your individual case. Instead, you will be assigned to a cohort or a category, and the applicable limits -- rationing -- applied to your care.

The president has emphasized the importance of limiting services to "health care that works." To identify such care, he provided more than $1 billion in the fiscal stimulus package to jump-start Comparative Effectiveness Research (CER) and to finance a federal CER advisory council to implement that idea.

Multiply this by a couple thousand other boondoggles and you've got an idea where your two trillion dollars went.

Yes, there will be a death panel. It doesn't matter if they take some verbiage out of the bill that is too obviously explicit, it doesn't matter because the entire logic of the bill points toward a death panel.

Of course they won't call it that, but thats what it will be. They will do a cost benefit analysis on your treatment options, and that will be the menu of treatment options your doctor gets to choose from.

You won't necessarily know what treatments are being denied to you, because they simply were never available in the first place.

There is a certain amount of this happening already under the current system both public and private. But it is still porous enough that if you are able to shoulder part of the cost, and if your doctor is willing to go to bat for you, you can get the treatment you want and need.

That "porosity" in the system won't be there once Obamism is the law of the land. Your doctor will have no incentive to try to bypass the limitations.

Did Obama say he didn't become president in order to kill grandma? Yes, he did say that. But what is more certain is that he didn't become president to leave you alone. He became president to give you the benefit of his great and mighty wisdom whether you like it or not.

JUST IN ...
Democrats, realizing the success of the President’s “Cash For Clunkers” rebate program, have revamped a major portion of their National Health Care Plan.
President Obama, Speaker Pelosi, and Sen. Reed are expected to make this major announcement at a joint news conference later this week. I have obtained an advanced copy of the proposal which is named....

“CASH FOR CODGERS” and it works like this... Couples wishing to access health care funds in order to pay for the delivery of a child will be required to turn in one old person. The amount the government grants them will be fixed according to a sliding scale. Older and more prescription dependent codgers will garner the highest amounts.

Special “Bonuses” will be paid for those submitting codgers in targeted groups, such as smokers, alcohol drinkers, persons 10 pounds over their government prescribed weight, and any member of the Republican Party.
Smaller bonuses will be given for codgers who consume beef, soda, fried foods, potato chips, lattes, whole milk, dairy products, bacon, Brussel sprouts, or Girl Scout Cookies.

All codgers will be rendered totally useless via toxic injection. This will insure that they are not secretly resold or their body parts harvested to keep other codgers in repair.
Remember you heard it here first...

Hold on. The blog entry you posted is based on a Wall St. Journal piece by Feldstein. According to the Journal, “Mr. Feldstein, chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers under President Ronald Reagan, is a professor at Harvard and a member of The Wall Street Journal’s board of contributors.” Nothing there about him being an Obama advisor.

The president has emphasized the importance of limiting services to "health care that works."

How is it that this slimy, unaccountable, loser has come to be the one to decide such things in what was once the greatest country in the history of the planet?

I have a hunch: America, you've had 40 years to turn from death -- killing infants -- to life. You haven't done it. So you got President Death, because that's what you wanted. You stood by while defenseless infants were pureed in their wombs. How would you feel if it happened to you? A completely unjustifiable, cold-blooded, pragmatic and economically driven murder? You may very well find out.
