2010 Elections! ... here we COME !!

Any joy is premature and unwarranted. Consider this truism: once a law is passed, a bureaucracy constructed, or an entitlement established, it isn't going away. Remember the 104th Congress? Yes, it had some truly revolutionary effects, but despite the atmosphere being right (the left and right at the time were screaming about Social Security's solvency), nothing changed with Social Security. Remember Gingrich advocating the end of the FCC? Sorry, it's still here. Remember the Reagan administration's efforts to can the US Dept of Education? That went well, didn't it?

And even if the 2010 elections bring the GOP back into the Congress, seriously, what is going to change? Under GOP control the Congress did what over the past few years? Pass Ted Kennedy's education reform bill, No Child Left Behind (then got all the blame for it). Expanded Medicare entitlements. Pass the so-called Patients Bill of Rights that the Dems had been peddling on the hill unsuccessfully for a decade.

Your children and grandchildren are going to be crushed under the coming nationalized medical service. And I'll bet you that 100 years from now, the program will be completely insolvent and still nobody will be able to do a damn thing to get rid of it. Or even know how, as freedom and liberty will be a dim memory.
