HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - A New Jersey blogger facing charges in two states for allegedly making threats against lawmakers and judges was trained by the FBI on how to be deliberately provocative, his attorney said Tuesday.

Hal Turner worked for the FBI from 2002 to 2007 as an "agent provocateur" and was taught by the agency "what he could say that wouldn't be crossing the line," defense attorney Michael Orozco said.

Further to the comments in this thread, the FBI has often used "agents provocateur" to incite people to make threats or act out. As most of us know, this was done against the radicals in the 1960s and apparently is being done against us now.
Word--and warning--to the wise, and to all of us here on FR.

Abolish the FBI. Nothing but a bunch of crooked, creeping busybodies.

“Word—and warning—to the wise, and to all of us here on FR.”

Nothing to worry about...we’ve already been “flagged” and “phished” I am sure...I know I have personally indulged in self-flagulation...as far as provocateurs go...don’t we already have them?

jess, who isn’t sure what to make of provocateurs...

Prosecutors have acknowledged that Turner was an informant who spied on radical right-wing organizations, but the defense has said Turner was not working for the FBI when he allegedly made threats against Connecticut legislators and wrote that three federal judges in Illinois deserved to die. "But if you compare anything that he did say when he was operating, there was no difference. No difference whatsoever," Orozco said.

No difference because the other 50% were trolls from the Southern Poverty Law Center, ACORN and the White House ... I'll bet "flag" was shut down because all the "hate" stuff in the US is generated by left wing groups trying to discredit right wing groups. And I'm not kidding about that...

He might have several... He's the hothead who "can't take it anymore" and the person who wants you to pray for his second cousin's cat.. ( stops real communication between us) . Or he's the second one on a post who "cast doubt"... so many troll tactics...

Hal Turner, another victim of the great intertubal butthurt squad. Among the flying residues from that blast of the lulzcannon was clear evidence of contact with his FBI handlers.

This disclosure should be more dangerous to Turner than a Federal prosecution. Nobody likes a rat.

I am not surprised by this story (not that I think it's true, mind you).

Hal Turner, aka "Hal from North Bergen", was a regular caller on the Bob Grant Show ages ago when Bob was on WABC, before moving to WOR.

My knowledge of Hal comes once-removed. I know someone else who started a talk show on a local station in Northern New Jersey. This guy was paying for the airtime, mind you. He invited Hal, Frank from Queens and John from Staten Island to be the regular panel to talk about the issues.

It got a bit heated, and there was friction with the studio, and my friend suggested to Hal that he should take a week off. Hal suggested that the guy paying the bills should take a week off. Yeah. Hal was gone after that.
The damage was done, however, and the station pulled the plug not long after. Frank and John went on using the name "The Right Perspective" on the Internet.

Hal was a piece of work.
He had a FR account, briefly, years ago. (Early 2000s, maybe). If he's used it since then, I've been lucky and missed his rants.

Church Committee Oversight Uncovered FBI Spying on Innocent Americans

In the early 1970s, revelations about the FBI spying on innocent Americans shocked the
country. Led by Senator Frank Church, Congress thoroughly investigated allegations of
FBI abuses and made recommendations to prevent further abuse. What the Church
Committee found was breathtaking.
From the 1950s through the early 1970s, the FBI and other intelligence agencies launched
various domestic programs to spy on Americans. Political dissidents, anti-war activists,
civil rights activists, groups from the left to the right were infiltrated, disrupted, and
harassed, often for nothing more than exercising their First Amendment rights.2 For
example, government agents infiltrated the “Women’s Liberation Movement.”
FBI
sources reported on the formation of the Conservative American Christian Action
Council, and even collected information about the anti-Communist John Birch
Society.
3 The NAACP was investigated to determine if it “had connections with” the
Communist Party. In the first year of the investigation, the FBI issued a report stating that
the NAACP had a “strong tendency” to “steer clear of Communist activities.” No
evidence was ever adduced by the FBI to rebut this report, yet the FBI investigation
continued for a total of twenty-five years.4

Warning PAAALEEEZE. It is just a matter of acceptance that everyone that posts here gets the’s a once or twice over by the Alphabet agencies.

Until there is a Constitutional Convention that strips Americans of the Right to Free speech, they better leave us alone. I have been on FR since 96-97-98 can’t remember the exact year, but everyone that has been here that long know the rules and WHEN the TROLLS are present.

This explains so much for me.

Why this guy was posting on white supremacy web sites and posting links from FR to these sites while observing the references to these sites by embedding the links.

These were old posts and appear to be from the time he was working for the FBI.

The guy was phishing to determine relationships between FR and these sites. Apparently he got nothing other than dragging FR’s Name through the mud by giving left wing Bloggers ammo.

This was a dirty trick by the FBI to Smear FR.

FR needs to come up with a tool to catch all of these links to sites like this so these references can be reviewed to make sure they are kosher. Never know when a hidden embedded link will become fodder for some left wing blogger.

FBI Inciting the mob to violence and Hal was a FBI Plant on FR, who would have thunk that no only we would get this story, the FBI would confirm it.

Do you remember that troll from D.C tht kept getting banned and would keep coming back with new names. It seems he only stopped when his name and address was posted. You know this guy isn’t the only one. I seem to remember one period where there was a concert attack by “neo-nazi,kkk” types. Wonder if they were part of this cabal formed by the FBI.

No I don’t, but you have been here from Mar 25, 2009 so how would you remember anything?

Sorry, anyone one that has joined since Obama landed gets more scrutiny.
