(Sigh) My hero. Always right. Always charming and brilliant.

I wish he would break down the numbers. I think he could bring it down to the public in terms they could understand AND I wish he and others would start talking about alternative ideas with regard to the state of our health care in America.

Not just Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, his health care advisor who complains of Americans' "over-utilization" of medical care, but also Professor Cass Sunstein, who has written a whole book on how third parties should use government power to "nudge" people into making better decisions in general.

People making their own decisions, even their own mistakes, is a critical part of the development of the mature personality and the robust eternal spirit. This is true from cradle to grave, in deciding and caring for our loved ones and ourselves. For government to take away this most important learning opportunity away from individuals reduces every decision to an instrumental materialism. Citizens become mere workhorses for the elites, who will confiscate whatever they want from individuals and redistribute it to others who have not worked for it, therefore will not value it and will not learn from it.
