People making their own decisions, even their own mistakes, is a critical part of the development of the mature personality and the robust eternal spirit. This is true from cradle to grave, in deciding and caring for our loved ones and ourselves. For government to take away this most important learning opportunity away from individuals reduces every decision to an instrumental materialism. Citizens become mere workhorses for the elites, who will confiscate whatever they want from individuals and redistribute it to others who have not worked for it, therefore will not value it and will not learn from it.

Well said...If the day comes that our government has taken away the self respect of the people that’s the day we cease to exist as a nation. The town halls are showing many of us have that self respect.
