I am going to have to retract my speculation that he became anti-Israel because of conversion.
Looking at the timeline, he was anti-Israel for a long period of antipathy, and THEN converted.
For my speculation to work, the conversion would have to be from antipathy and not the other way around.
That’s possible, I guess, but not as likely.
