Heath Ledger was OK I guess. I always thought he was trying to be a little bit Mel Gibson from Lethal Weapon and a little bit Mel Gibson from Conspiracy Theory...

I've been thinking that Obama is more like Nicholson's Joker than Ledger's

From the 1989 movie:

EXT. JOKER ON HIS THRONE - THAT MOMENT

The Joker still graciously dispensing dollar bills.

JOKER: That's right, folks. Who do you trust? Hubba, Hubba, Hubba! Who do you trust? Me? I'm handing out free money. And where is the Batman[Palin]? He's[She's] at home washing his[her] tights!

The angle that I didn’t think about is that in the movie, no one knows who the Joker is. No ID, no history, no record, no real name. It’s almost as if he appeared out of nowhere to bring an unholy chaos to Gotham.

In that sense, Obama is similar because how much do we really know about him? So much is hidden AND like the Joker always makes up new stories about his past to explain his actions and make his personal narrative more interesting. Like Obama claiming he had a secretary and had lunches with German and Japanese businessmen when, in fact, he was a junior copy editor.
