"Cronkite died July 17. He was 92. His funeral was July 24 in New York. The New York Post said the luminaries are scheduled to speak at the Sept. 9 event at Manhattan's Lincoln Center.Sure seems like a long time between death and the memorial. Must have had to wait till after the Messiah took his vacation around the country.

Remember Chevy Chase on the old SNL? Herein updated:
“Walter Cronkite is still dead. And that’s the way it is.”
His statue? He might have wanted a giant upraised middle finger aimed at and in front of Arlington National Cemetery. On the D.C. side, of course.
(I attended a veteran’s funeral there just four days ago so this comes from the gut as well as the heart. Cronkite was pure evil to our fighting brave both living and rewarded.)

. . . a memorial service for Walter Cronkite . . . on the guest list are television personality Nick Clooney, CBS executives and newspeople Les Moonves, Sean McManus and Bob Schieffer, veteran broadcast journalist Tom Brokaw and media mogul Howard Stringer, Viet Nam's President Nguyen Minh Triet, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung . . . .

Cronkite retired on March 6, 1981 or when Obama was 19. I guess we will hear how much Walter influenced his life.

A liberal ritual celebration of another liberal. Didn’t they used to have show funerals in the Soviet Union? Same thing here. Fake veneration for political purposes.

Someone should mention that Cronkite helped bring about a military disaster.

I believe it's totally inappropriate for obama to attend.
Had Rush died while Bush was in office, it would have been equally inappropriate for him to attend.

Think Obama ever ‘knew’ who he was? Doubt it. . .but what a great opportunity for face time. There is a collective conceit here that just reeks. . .
