The One Lesson Democrats Never Learn
Town Hall ^ | August 17, 2009 | Wynton Hall

It never fails: Democrat elitism always boomerangs back on itself.

If, as is being reported, President Barack Obama is prepared to pull the plug on his previously vigorous support for a government-run public healthcare option, the president’s stinging policy defeat will have come as the result of his Administration’s mendacious policy rhetoric marked by its snobbish dismissal of critiques from concerned townhall participants and, most notably, former Governor Sarah Palin...

Also look to the Czars. They are the ones in control of this President. This President has no idea how to run this country, what it needs or what the people want. The Czars are in control and not even answerable to Congress. Our Congress is just a group of people that are taking up space now.

“Liberalism” if it exists at all is the febrile pretensions of white elitist snobs, joined poltically by thugs of union and race/ethnic lobbies and other hustlers looking for advantage. Take a look at HufPo and Kos, the only things whiter might be the KKK, and even that is in doubt.

So true...you think the GOP will take back the Congress in 2010 because of this?

I agree. So why, then, do they get away with the race hustling and race-baiting snobbery? Is it because of the MMS?

They can take back Congress if the Democrats keep doing what they are doing and the Conservatives take over the GOP. That would be my guess. But.....they have to be honest with the people and bring our government back to what it is supposed to be....that’s the key.

The reason it backfires is that they overdo it, every time. And the reason they overdo it is that the whole progrressive media/beltway pundit echo chamber demands a "me too" participation so that the participants get to feel like one of the cool kids. One pundit stating "Sarah is dumb" is daring and provocative, a hundred doing so and it becomes apparent that parrots, while voluble, aren't actually intellectually superior themselves. Do we really trust Maureen Dowd or Keith Olbermann or Kathleen Parker, who have never run anything but their mouths, to render judgment on a woman who has run a state (and very successfully, too)?

One difficulty with the sort of self-regarding pretentiousness that leads these people to declare, apparently seriously, "we are your intellectual leaders" is that it doesn't take very long for it to start to induce snickering, and once that happens the game is done.

They may scorn Joe The Plumber but when it comes to hiring somebody you look at the resume and see what they've done, not what they've talked about, lest you end up with a flooded basement and a firm assurance that the mess was Bush's fault. Joe may or may not know about foreign policy but at least he knows where to find out. Olbermann knows how to sound good. That's the difference.

Agree on conservatives needing to take over the GOP, far too much limp wristed democrat-lite Republicans out there. Two more things needed as well: 1) a clear conservative message to define what we believe in, 2) leaders who preach this same message and practice it in their life.
