Woo hoo!! Combination FReepathon, Tea Party, March on DC and FReeper Convention thread!!

Second, time is running out on our booking contract with the Sheraton National Hotel in Arlington, VA. We only have 5 days left to book rooms at our discounted $116 per night rate. Freepers and other patriots arriving at the Sheraton during the morning and afternoon.

3:00 PM - 5:30 PM - Free Republic Sign In Table open at Sheraton for Freepers/Patriots to sign in, pick up Convention Ticket/Badges and meet and greet.

6:00 PM - Freepers/Patriots gather for trip to Walter Reed to honor our heroes. Snacks and beverages provided by FreeRepublic DC Chapter at minimal cost to attendees.

10:00 PM - Freepers/Patriots gather at the Sheraton Roof Top Room for a candlelight vigil in memory of all 9/11 victims and to support of their families and friends. Finger foods and beverages provided.

10:00 PM - Somewhere between 10:00 PM and midnight, Freepers/Patriots greet the arrival of the Tea Party Express Caravan! (Hopefully JimRob and the caravan will arrive before the candlelight vigil.)

9:00 AM - Freepers/Patriots move to the Freedom Plaza by Metro to organize for March to the Capitol.

10:00 AM - March to the Capitol begins. Upon reaching the Capitol, the Rally begins on the West Front of the U.S. Capitol. Freepers/Patriots attend various events at the Mall during the day.

6:00 PM - Freepers/Patriots gather at Sheraton for the Free Republic Banquet. Great guest speakers and a wonderful dinner with entertainment will be enjoyed by all!

Freepers/Patriots will be leaving for home at various times from morning - evening.

9:00 AM - 11:30 AM - Freepers/Patriots gather at various times for breakfast/brunch at the Sheraton at attendee's expense.

12:30PM - 4:00 PM - Freepers/Patriots gather in Sheraton Meeting Room for discussion workshops to share ideas/plans for political action during 2010 elections. Speakers and discussion will take place.

Whether or not you are attending our events in DC, if would like to help someone else attend or help us meet our general event overhead expenses, please consider donating to our Convention Fund. Our elected officials need to KNOW we are NOT supporting this goverment control of our lives by controlling our healthcare or taxing us to pay off selected companies who destroyed themselves by bad management, nor do we believe that Cap & Trade is a necessary bill!

Join the Hartford Tea Party Patriots in welcoming the Tea Party Express national bus tour when it arrives in Connecticut to rally Americans to oppose the out-of-control spending, higher taxes, bailouts and growth in the size and power of the government. The Hartford rally is part of a series of tea party rallies being held across the nation from August 28th to September 12th 2009, beginning in California and traveling eastward, and reaching its final destination: the big 09.12.09 Taxpayer March on Washington, DC

The Tea Party Express Hartford Rally will highlight some of the worst offenders in Congress who have voted for higher spending, higher taxes, and government intervention in the lives of American families and businesses. These Members of Congress have infringed upon the freedom of the individual in this great nation, and it’s time for us to say: “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH”.

The Tea Party Express Hartford Rally will feature national leaders in the anti-tax, conservative, tea party movement, along with musical performances, including the following:

Lew Uhler(Chairman, National Tax Limitation Committee PAC),

Deborah Johns & Mark Williams (Vice Chairpersons, Our Country Deserves Better PAC),

Amy Kremer(National Coordinator, Tea Party Patriots),

- Lloyd Marcus (performing the “American Tea Party Anthem”), and
Revue (performing “A Bailout Song”).

In addition to both national and local speakers, and musical entertainment, there will be information tables, and other family-friendly activities.

THE 09.12.09 MARCH ON WASHINGTON
April 15th 2009 was an historic day for those who love freedom. Hundreds of thousands of Americans came out to protest the massive government spending that is burdening our country with huge debt and future tax increases. People came out of their homes and into the streets to stand together and say “Enough!” But the media would have you believe that only a few people showed up, and that those who did were not representative of the American people. Of course we know the truth, and we know that April 15th 2009 was just the beginning of something BIG!

The champions of big government are now working to pass a new national energy tax, government-run health care, and other policies & programs that will cripple our lives and our livelihoods even further. We must keep the pressure on our elected officials as they vote on how much more of our money they will spend, and how much more of our money they will confiscate. Many of you have been wondering “what’s next?” for the tea party movement... well, THIS IS IT!

It’s time to take the tea party movement directly to Washington, DC. Please join thousands of Americans from across the country on September 12th to deliver a message to our elected officials: “WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH!” We have had enough of the out-of-control spending, the bailouts, the growth of big government, and the soaring deficits.
